This is a heavy cake made with sour cream,butter,milk,eggs,etc. I am afraid if it isn't done it will gain bacteria rapidly.

WHEN IN DOUBT, THROW IT OUT. Always remember this rhyme when dealing with food in question. It'll save your whole family from ever going to the emergency room with food poisoning. A $10 cake is not worth taking the health risk.

This cake sounds really good though and besides that you still have the problem of what to say to the Baker of this cake.

An Honest and Sweet Solution:
Make another Sour Cream Pound Cake and tell your cake giving friend that 'THE' cake was fabulously delicious! This completely avoids lying to your friend. Your statement will be totally 100% true while protecting your friend from any embarrassment.

Easy Sour Cream Pound Cake

INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 cups butter, room temperature
2 cups sugar
8 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 cup (8 ounces) sour cream
Sifted confectioners' sugar

PREPARATION:
Directions for sour cream pound cake
In a large mixing bowl cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Blend flour into creamed mixture alternately with sour cream, ending with flour.

Beat well after each addition. Grease and flour a 10-inch Bundt pan. Pour batter in Bundt pan; bake at 350° for about 1 hour or until cake is done. Cake should spring back when lightly touched with finger. Cool sour cream pound cake in the pan for 10 minutes, then invert on a rack to cool completely. When cooled, sprinkle sour cream pound cake with sifted confectioners' sugar or ice. Serve sour cream pound cake with dessert sauce or use a glaze, if desired.

If it is runny, like batter slowly pouring out, it is not done. Or if it has a raw flour tate, it's not done.

But if it sorta sticks together in little clumps as you slice it, it's just very moist and doesn't need anything done to it.

If you're real worried, microwave it by the piece. MW ovens cook from the inside out anyway.

I think its getting bacteria as we speak, My rule is if I have to question something about the food I'm going to eat, them out it goes. If you want ONLY IF YOU WANT..you can slice it and then toast i slice and see what you think of it......Too many Dairy products to take a chance..

If you just received it, don't throw it away. Put it in a steamer to finish cooking it, then tear it up, put it in a bowl, & pour hot pudding or fruit over it.

I don't think you can continue baking it. Just throw it out, it probably isn't worth it.

re-cooking it may make it worse. don't eat it. toss it.
