The Pope made a comment about Mohammed being evil, and as expected, the Muslim world is all pissed off again and, as expected, ready to wage war on the West. *YAWN* (Isn't this getting old?)

First of all, the Pope was right (even though I'm not a big fan of him). Mohammed was an evil murderer and rapist.

Why do Muslims get SOOOOOOOOOOO angry when someone insults Islam or Mohammed? If you say something derogatory about Jesus to a Christian, they will be offended but they won't do anything. But if you piss off a Muslim, it's like they want to kill you. (This is why politicians in the West are so afraid of Muslims and Muslim anger.) Why such fanaticism? Is it because Islam is too young and has not yet had its reformation like Christianity did?

The only other answer I can come up with is that most people in Islamic countries are uneducated (kept stupid by the government). All they know is how to be fanatical about their religion.

Any thoughts or ideas?

Are you freaking kidding me?!? You think my religion is insane. You start a holy war every hundred years because you want a holy land that doesn't even belong to you! Jesus was Jewish for goodness' sakes! If Palestine, Lebanon, etc. belong to anyone it is either the Muslims or the Jews! Idiot! I have Christian friends, but you are seriously pissing me off right now! Your president is a fascist moron and so are you!
I'm guessing the next words out of your mouth will be hail Hitler or rock on KKK, but I'm not quite sure which! Oh, how about kill the infidels...you supremacists really like that saying, don't you?

Too undesirable for the Muslims. enable them to be dissatisfied over 'the actuality'! Muslims do no longer choose to admit to the irony in Muslims being waiting to desecrate a Christian Temple in Jerusalem via spreading feces on pictures of Christ? yet a Christian chief (the Pope) can’t remind human beings of what 14th century Byzantine emperor Manuel Paleolous II mentioned with reference to the income Mohammad various hundred years in the past. It wasn’t even the Popes very own words or theory. He substitute into repeating what Paleolous II supposedly mentioned. . What’s with the hypersensitive reaction besides? The Muslims can dance contained in the streets; shout and yell; strengthen their fists all they choose to yet i do no longer think the Pope owes Muslims an apology for something. some have contended the terrorists are a sort of radical Islam and a small minority of the religion. they say the great majority of Muslims are a non violent human beings. i'm placing out to ask your self approximately those claims when I see the reported hundreds of thousands contained in the streets protesting what the Pope repeated. 2 confronted or what? Is Islam a non violent faith or a violence based faith? via what i'm seeing and listening to, i'd would desire to end the latter.

Totally tired of it. What a farce!

Muslims don't want us Christians to see the irony in Muslims being able to desecrate a Christian Temple in Jerusalem by spreading feces on images of Christ? But a Christian leader (the Pope) can’t remind people of what 14th century Byzantine emperor Manuel Paleolous II said about the profit Mohammad several hundred years ago. It wasn’t even the Popes own words or thought. He was repeating what Paleolous II supposedly said. . What’s with the hypersensitivity anyway?

The Muslims can dance in the streets; shout and yell; raise their fists all they want to but I do not believe the Pope owes Muslims an apology for anything.

Some have contended the terrorists are a form of radical Islam and a small minority of the faith. They say the large majority of Muslims are a peaceful people. I am beginning to wonder about these claims when I see the reported millions in the streets protesting what the Pope repeated.

Two faced or what? Is Islam a peaceful religion or a violence based religion? By what I am seeing and hearing, I would have to conclude the latter.

Muslims are showing their true colors. And a lot of it is ignorance and gullibility.

If a Muslim says anything derogatory about Jesus, it is more often in reference to how Christians worship Jesus not about the man himself. In their eyes Jesus was a prophet just like Muhammad. Muhammad just happened to be the last.
Being the Pope nowadays isn't just about leading the Christians of the world in rallying around this message and condemning that, the station of Pope has become a diplomatic position as much as anything else. If the Pope wants to be taken seriously he needs to realize that attacking one of the greatest religions in the world is not the way to demonstrate Christian ideals. To condemn is not what Jesus taught.
Pope John Paul understood this. This new Pope is fooling himself in many ways if he thinks this is the way to be a shephard to his people.
And you apparently also are fooling yourself if you think that Christians "will be offended but they won't do anything." Look again at the world you live in.

hey that just shows how strongly they feel about their religion and how firm their faith is . Christians don't say anything about people insulting Jesus because they are not that firm in faith . No offense to the Christians out here but most are living just for the sake of this worldly pleasure.
I mean Muslims respect Jesus alot...ever hear them insulting Jesus ?

I said it before and I'll say it again ....a good leader preaches his own religion and does not criticize the religion of others . That shows how weak of a religious leader the Pope is.

And you know what you should get your facts straight before accusing someone of being a murderer or a rapist!!

u guys must be Sooooo Impotent, that u can't do anything if someone insult Jesus Christ. dude, do u ppl even have any balls, or u just wanna lay down like a b**ch and listen to anyone who wanna insult most beloved Jesus Christ. on which basis u r refering Prophet Mohammad (May Peace and Blessings of ALLAH Be Upon Him) as 'evil'? pope is just spreading hatred over the world. that's the whole idea that Christianity went through a reformation, so it doesn't propagate The True Message of Christ Now, it propagates what paul said, or what constantine, or what any other xyz said. As for Islam, we Muslims don't want our faith to go through such reformation. pope has showed that how christianity are intolerant to other Religion, and actually they are the ones who are fanatics, as they go on speaking abt other Religion as 'evil'. No wonder, so many priests are child sexual abusers, after all they are so sexually repressed, and church tries to cover them up.
Also, Muslims are very much educated as any, as there even have been many Nobel Prize Winners among Muslims, and western ppl are the ones who are actually kept brain-washed through media, by their respective govts.

You people are ridiculous. It makes me so mad that people think that Muslims are just wanting to be pissed off as often as they can. You'd be pissed too if you were constantly criticized and ridiculed because your religion is misunderstood. Americans are so stupid (and I can say that because I'm an American, so don't starting bitching). Are you seriously saying that Christianity doesn't have fanatics??? You've got to be insane. Islamic countries are uneducated?? That's the most ignorant and ironic thing I've ever heard. Most people had never even heard about Islam before 9/11 and now they want to think that they know everything about it. SO STUPID.

Christians are to respond by loving those who persecute and despise them. Christians are not weak for not responding to hate with violence. Far to the contrary, forgiveness takes a great deal more maturity than reacting in hate-- that is what the natural flesh (and spiritual toddlership) does. It is irresponsible (not to mention a now-tiring insult to even mediocre intelligence) to continually refer to the *middle* of the story (Israel defending their own country being bombed, the Crusades) without going to the INSTIGATOR-- and history is clear about who that has been, almost without exception.
I would not be the least bit opposed to anyone pointing out details about Christ that are TRUE... what would be the point? The facts are what they are; it's only the dig that has a source of truth that has the potential to hurt, isn't it.
Now here's the obvious irony that I don't see anyone mentioning: When someone mentions Muslims having a violent history, do they respond in a manner that would disprove this, putting the accusers to shame [such as 57-yr-old Mohammad's admitted, recorded account of sex with an 8-yr-old after she was forcibly 'married' to him, and countless incidents of brutal murders, eyes burned out, limbs lopped off, people left to die slow deaths out in the desert-- only a few by the prophet himself-- and only a small example of the habits of the peaceful religion], are they in fact able to point to all the incidences to the contrary (such as Israel's many hospices, aid programs, and even legal aid for Muslims), or do they in fact respond with LOUD threats of MORE VIOLENCE-- even worse that last complained of... Is the irony not just too obvious? If people are to have a debate, they must at least have facts as a basis, and not simply hot-headed emotionalism.

For the poster wanting 'proof' of Mohammed's being a murderer and rapist, are you depending on everyone in a forum such as this to be *completely* unread and literate? Not much chance. One doesn't have to look hard at all to see every example in history, in his own admissions-- he even changed his own rules (as in the wife quotas) when it suited his own purposes. Why get all uptight about insulting Mohammed, anyway? He was a man, not God. He was not even a very bright man-- he plagiarized most of what he wrote, blatantly contradicted the few original ideas he had, and had the character of a thug. He borrowed the current Arab moon god of his area as the star of his religion. Instead of reacting on cue and PROVING every stereotype of Islam, why not just get a better religion (or at least a better prophet)?

All right my righteous friend. How do you think the Christians would react is the Muslims begin outlining the multitudes that Christians have eradicated for the good of their souls.
One example will suffice, the complete destruction of entire cultures and populations in the new world. And of course each other during the reformation. We won't talk about the crusades where the crusaders killed more Christians than they did Muslims.
Get over yourself, I suggest that most of the people in the middle east are considerably more educated than you.

Christians take great offense when critical remarks are made about their outrageous beliefs. They are lacking a sense of humor as well. The crusades were a rather brutal time as were the inquisitions, witch trials and persecutions of non-believers. Isn't Pat Robertson a bit of a fanatic?
