Sorry; if there's no free lunch, there's Definitely No free Norton... legally. Don't take a chance & download it illegally; you may get viruses that you're trying to avoid anyway with an anti-virus program. Purchase Norton or get another anti-virus, free or paid.

Just download AVG free edition it's better any way.
We still got viruses when we had Norton. Haven't had one since we installed AVG.
If you go with the paid version of AVG you get anti virus and firewall for $49 for 2 years so it's a lot cheaper than Norton.

Yes, there are file sharing programs which traffic many illegal programs, music and such, but of course this would be illegal to get it from there. So i suggest that you buy it once for, what $40-$50, and when it expires you can get free updates from stores like CompUSA. All you have to do is show proof that you bought the previous version of it(e.g., receipt). So if you want to go the legal way, which I strongly recommend, Just save your pennies.:)

I wouldn't recommend it, because it's a resource hog and slows down your computer a lot.
I myself use F-Prot antivirus which detects viruses through monitoring the activity of files.
I myself am a virus coder and most of the stuff gets caught. It's ethical but it pays good money to find flaws.
