That is why they always say "Clear" before they shock a heart to try to restart it. It is not pumping his heart - it is defibrillating it to get it beating properly.

A defribulator is a machine that sends an electric shock to the heart in order to try and get the heart to go back in to regular beats. If he didnt move his hands there is a chance of shocking the person still touching the patient.
