How difficult to be sure when you know the next breath is the last?

Unfortunately, all answers missed the point of the question (which was, for those who believe themselves sure of entering heaven, that the imminence of death creates doubt about everything we believe).

I'll put this to a vote, as no answerer understood the purpose behind the question.

I think anyone who can say that with conviction is lying... you never know when it is... it's not our job to know when...

Do you know when your last breath will be? You could drop from an aneurysm in your brain or heart in the next few minutes. Death has little to do with believing anyway.

we don't even know when death IS imminent.....hospice, physicians, etc. Only God knows.....we have gathered over 4 times in the last year as a family from all over the US because the "experts" said death was imminent of a loved one..............

The following scripture eventually will expire when Jesus removes death, but for now, it's our reality.

Heb 9:27 And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment,

I find your questioning ----I don't know----intriguing maybe.
Even most the innocent in Iraq that suddenly gets their heads sawed off by the fanatics couldn't answer that question.

It's not as easy as you think, if you are sure of death tomorrow it will be quite easier than not knowing the day or the hour.

Death is always imminet- I could have a heart attack right now. Or a stroke- I outlived a neighbor kid that we grew up together with, he died of a huge stroke at the age of 40. (I am now 45)

I just pray that my death is quick, and painless- and if possible doing it right.

Each breath we take could be the last one. Always know each day could be your last and you keep it in perspective at all times.
