I'd appreciate any answers as I got a call from the Drs office along with a fax of the bloodwork that these are low, and now they are not in until Monday and I don't want to wonder about this all weekend.

Having a low BUN/ CREAT ratio may be caused from a diet low in protein, pregnancy, severe muscle injury , and other known factors...if it was a high BUN/CREAT ratio it may be caused from sudden acute kideny failure which may have been caused from dehaydration or shock to the kidney. If your test results do come up high or low I would consult with your primary care physician and see if it is in your best interest to see if you should see a nephrologist, which is a doctor whos specialty is kidneys.

Until you can talk to your doctor Monday, go to webmd.com and read abaout those tests. Sounds like you must be okay or they would have have called or faxed the results because most physicians want to give you bad news face to face.

It means your kidneys are working well. If they were elevated, then it would mean that your kidneys were not filtering out the waste in your blood. It could also mean that you are over hydrated. Meaning you are drinking too much water. The best thing is to ask your MD
