There are several things to consider when putting a child in sports. Soccer, basketball, football, baseball any of your team sports are good and they use a lot of energy as well as teach a child how to be a team player, however not only do you have the games but the practices and such as well you can easily be tied up three nights a week running back and forth. Karate is good especially for children with adhd. They can practice at home so it is only the night of class that you have to run AND it teaches great control and discipline. Talk to your son and see what he would be more interested in doing and start slow don't put him in three or four things at once. Have fun!!!!!!!!!!

The first sport that my son played was soccer. He was 5 and I think that soccer is good because it is a team sport with very easy rules. I would also say that if he doesnt like it, try something else. My son started with soccer but also does wrestling, football, and baseball. I think you should give him the option.

My son had difficulties playing with other kids, so we put him in Soccer so that he'd learn teamwork, and he loves it. We also put him in karate, and he likes it, but he's more enthusiastic about Soccer. I think it really depends on the kid. He really would have up for anything I think, and since soccer was the first thing he started and is what he knows, he likes it best. Ask your son what he wants to do.

What does your son like? There are so many sports and each person should be able to find one that is worthwhile. Just about every sport teaches self discipline and team sports are great for learning to work together. Never had sons, both daughters went for dance.

All depends on your son. Why not try him out with a few at different times of course then see what he likes best. My son did a little bit of everything but never really took to any of them. He is in the 4th grade and were still trying to find something he wants to play.

The best sport for your child is the one he is interested in. What does he like? Any physical activity is good for him. Remember, you want your son to happy, who knows what he likes now may change in a year and that's okay.

Team sports are best. I think soccer and basketball are the best - they are the most active and can be played anywhere easily.
