It depends on how old she is. I would explain to her in a way that she can understand that all people are created differently - some have light skin, some have dark, some are good at sports, and some are good in school...we are all born with different traits and different features. (If she understands the difference between a boy and a girl, I would say "boys have a penis, which is what your brother has and girls have a vagina, which is what you have. They are pretty similar, but just look different. Both work just as well and are just as good). If she doesnt understand the difference between boys and girls, I would just say that some people are born with what your brother has and some people are born with what you have. They look different, but they both work about the same and they are both okay to have. Neither is better. Hope this helps.

LOL! So glad you had a cup! I've gotten sidelined by a few questions like that as well. I try to be honest and give enough information without giving more than necessary. Not sure how old your kids are, but you could say something as simple as boys and girls are made differently and that's how boys pee. If your honest and comfortable/relaxed about it, it won't be such a big deal to her and will make other conversations later easier as she will trust you. Good luck!

I am not sure if it will work with your daughter, but this story worked with my son. The book is called "Matthew Prince Charming" by Jocelyn Sandchagrin. You may think it is such a silly story.. but for some reason it gets through to the child.
Good luck!

I would keep it basic. Girls have vulvas and vaginas, and boys have testicles and a penis. Typically kids will stop asking more questions once they are satisfied with what you've told them. They won't want to know more than what they understand. I would be frank and accurate.

First of all.. how old is your daughter and why did you allow her to watch him pee?? Couldnt you have told her to turn her head??
Seriously how much of his "organ" as you call it could she have seen?
I swear some questions are crazy...

just tell her. answer all her question with an age appropriate response. the earlier children know the differences between the sexes, the better off they are.

Lucky for boys. You did not say how old your daughter is but you can say that girls have the same thing but is inside, and that boys have it outside. You could also say that god made us special and this is the way we girls are.
