I've answered this question before, but I believe that all Christians have a ministry. Only someone who is truly called of God should try to become a Pastor (it's a lot more work than simply than wearing a suit and standing up behind a pulpit and asking for money). If God calls a woman to become a pastor, I believe that she should be allowed to pastor a church. Women tend to be nurturers, and that is an important role of a pastor.
So, yes I do believe that a woman could be a pastor under the right circumstances.

I'm tired of listening to people saying "this is a different time, etc." If we are going to worship in the House of God, we need to do it as He said. We cannot change His ways for what we feel is right or because society has an opinion on things.
According to the bible, there has never been women at the head of a church. And it says that women should not be in authority over a man. Plain and simple.
Many people have a problem with it, but that's because they are too proud to recieve what the Word of God is saying. People get labelled "male chauvenistic, demeaning, etc". It has nothing to do with control, power or a big head. It has to do with following the Word of God the way it says to do so.
It is not meant to be offensive to women. It is simply saying that in the House of God, men have the responsibility to lead.
Women can hold bible studies, hold high positions in the church and have many responsibilities and leadership roles. However, the highest position of authority should always be a Godly man. The only time a woman should have that position is if the right man for the job is not available and the most spiritual person available is a woman. Then that will be only in a temporary role until a true pastor shows up.
If you have a problem with that, then you have a problem with God and not the people who enforce this standard. That is between you and God and let Him judge your pride.
I love, respect and honor women. I will never treat them like lesser people or like they are beneath me in any fashion. However, when it comes to leadership roles, I don't feel that women have the tools necessary to do the job. They tend to be overly emotional and compassionate at times when they should be laying down the law.
There are exceptions to this, but that is just a general statement. 2 Exceptions are Judge Judy and Dr. Laura. I'd vote either one of them for president!!!!! I LOVE THEM!!! All women should take notes from their shows (and some men).
For the person that pasted that ABC email, all I can say is....WOW!!
Incredible story. Thank you.

I dont believe so. The only examples we see of preaching in the NT is the apostles which were men. If Jesus truly wanted to release the gender roles and get crazy like that he wouldve chosen a few women as apostles for the foundation of the church.
Its not that women are incapable of leading, its that God has ordained a set order in Scripture and many more traditional churches feel that to allow female pastors is to add to Gods word and set order.
Theres nothing wrong with women using their gifts to speak though. If they truly believe that that is their gift and calling then by all means--SPEAK THE TRUTH!!! There are good female guest speakers that are out there doing Gods will but to lead a church and hold the title of "elder" or pastor is too much.

I know many will disagree with me but here we go...
No, women are not called to pastor a church.
If a married women led a church where her husband was a member, in the church setting whe would be the authority. In the house (family), the husband/father is the spiritual head. There is now conflict over authority.
When my wife and I go to church, the pastor has authority over me, but I hold the authority over my wife. This is how God ordained it.
Women can hold any other office or position but not authority over the flock. Pastorship is the only authoritative position listed in the Bible. All others fall in line through unity and office given by Jesus in Ephesians 4:11.
NOTE: Joyce Meyer is a teacher, not a head pastor of her church.

If you believe that the Bible is completely inerrant, and sufficient for the faith and practice of the people of God, then the answer is "no." (I Timothy 2:12)
God also says, "For I am the Lord, I change not..." (Malachi 3:6a) Therefore, what God says in His Word, He means.
Can a woman be a pastor? Yes, but only teaching women and children. She is not permitted to teach the men.

Although a woman today may have similar talents and abilities as any man who is a preacher or elder, that does not invalidate the fact that God has said that the role of a woman is to be a submissive one, especially in the marriage relationship and in the public worship of the church. 1 Corinthians 14:34,35 Let your women keep silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak; but they are to be submissive, as the law also says. And if they want to learn something, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is shameful for women to speak in church.

Absolutely not. The Bible clearly states that women are to be silent in church and are forbidden to have authority over men. You can't be a pastor with those limitations. My mother is a strong, passionate Christian who would have made a wonderful pastor except for her gender. She willing accepts the her role in the church and finds other ways to minister to those around her.

Subject: Interesting reponse from ABC
AN ABC MESSAGE YOU HAVE TO READ
If more of us took a stand maybe we could have some decent TV programs. -- Jim Nugent is a coach in Childress, Texas.

Jim writes:
My name is Jim Neugent. I wrote to ABC (on-line) concerning a program called "THE PRACTICE." In last nights episode, one of the lawyer's mothers decided she is gay and wanted her son to go to court and help her get a marriage license so she could marry her 'partner.' ! I sent the following letter to ABC yesterday and really did not expect a reply, but I did get one.
My original message was:
ABC is obsessed (or should I say abscessed) ! with the subject of homosexuality. I will no longer watch any of your attempts to convince the world that homosexuality is OK. THE PRACTICE can be a fairly good show, but last night's program was so typical of your agenda. You picked the 'dufus' of the office to be the one who was against the idea of his mother being gay and made him look like a whiner because he had convictions. This type of mentality calls people like me a "gay basher." Read the first chapter of Romans (that's in the Bible) and see what the apostle Paul had to say about it.... He, God and Jesus were all 'gay bashers'. What if she'd fallen in love with her cocker spaniel? Is that an alternative lifestyle? (By the way, the Bible speaks against that, too.)

Here is ABC's reply from the ABC on-line webmaster:
How about getting your nose out of the Bible (which is ONLY a book of stories compiled by MANY different writers hundreds of years ago) and read the declaration of independence (what our nation is built on), where it says "All Men are Created equal," and try treating them that way for a change! Or better yet, try thinking for yourself and stop using an archaic book of stories as your lame crutch for your existence. You are in minority in this country and your boycott will not affect us or our freedom of statement.

Jim Neugent's second response to ABC:
Thanks for your reply. From your harsh reply, evidently I hit a nerve. I will share it with all with whom I come in contact. Hopefully, the Arkansas Democrat Newspaper will include it in one of their columns and I will be praying for you.

for a crutch? Please resend this to everyone in your mailbox.

I wonder if the person from ABC considered how many people would read this e-mail!
This is one we should definitely pass on.

I don't really think they should be Pasturing Churches, I know they have callings and are high up in the church, but I still don't believe in a woman Pastor.
