Jesus is God manifest in the flesh. Jesus is God. The man christ Jesus died. Ergo, God understands deat. He created it in the first place. I have repented, been baptized in Jesus' Name, and received the gift of the Holy Ghost. I know where I am going.

Jesus has communicated with God before, all through and since his experiences living and dying as a human. Jesus has been given the rulership of God's Kingdom for as long as death exists, and other humans have been chosen to rule with him so that true justice can be served. God will eliminate death once and for always. We have free will. We can choose to put our trust in God and have a true future free from the fear of impending death or the distress of losing a loved one. What a blessing we have in this hope.

Did Jesus know for sure that he would be raised up and get to go back to heaven? Or did he simply have faith in his Father, and in the power of the Holy Spirit?
We'll have to ask him about that, when the time comes.
One thing's for sure, Jesus actually experienced death, just like any man. And it wasn't pretty.
In the process, and in his humanity, he had no need to "fall back" and take advantage of his divinity, until it was time for his resurrection.
My best guess is that Jesus "emptied himself" on the way to the cross, just as he did when he was born, and that he lived and died a real man ... without claiming any special benefits or privileges.
True man, even in death, he probably relied on his Father and the Holy Spirit to raise him up, just as we all will need to do, someday.
Anything else would have been out of character, for God.
And yes, we can only hope. But look on whom we have to base that hope ... Jesus ... the perfect man who has already conquered death for us.
I'll take those odds. I have faith, too.

Not necessarily. God is supposed to be omniscient, including being able to see what's in people's hearts. Wouldn't god then be able to know what people experience? Would he even be able to shut it off? So that over the milennia he experiences all the suffering of all humans mixed with their joys and pettiness and laughter and jealousy and rage and tears all at once? Could that be why divine ways seem so mysterious? That godly decisions are based on a constant flood of everyone's good and bad, or even that experiencing all of this, he's deafened himself to it?
Oh, and as far as Jesus knowing he'd go to heaven, that's what makes Scorcese's Last Temptation so good: the devil tempts him with all the earthly things he won't experience.

I truly believe God understands everything because He is the Creator of everything. Yes, the rest of us can have that kind of certainty...we just need to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and we will be saved and go to Heaven. This I believe!

Actually, Jesus asked God why he had forsaken him.
In this, Jesus--at least for that moment--doubted.
So, God does understand what it is like to be a human facing death. This is one result of the incarnation.

It is because of Christ that God knows death, pain!
He knows and understands, and to some of us also understand!
I have that kind of certainty!

If we assume that god is a living being, then you might have a point. (Except we all know that those ants in your example have died, whether the killer is aware or not). God as a concept however can die. That is why people say that god is dead. they mean that the idea of god has become irrelevant, just like Latin being a dead language.
