There is some digging to do here. I have a friend like that.
Is he a selfish jerk, ego maniac?. A show off attention grabber?
Not a care in the world except himself and NEVER listens to you?
Then forget him.
Or does he talk about himself because he has a low self esteem
and is looking to you for validation of his feelings?
Many of these types have to build themselves up, because
they feel inferior. These types will talk to you, but it can
be difficult to connect.
Hey, the best guy out there is the one who puts you #1.
He listens to you, asks questions, and is interested in how
you feel, what you have to say. Good listeners are good guys.
That is the way it should be.

well I can understand this situation. Ive been in your shoes! And it was with this guy and I liked him and he did like me. But our conversations consisted of him talking a lot about himself..fair enough he did ask me questions about me occasionally. But it seemed to be more one way. And eventually It did drive me a wee bit off the edge. So it ended up seperating us. IF this is already starting to bother you, it will most likely only annoy you even more in the future. And will open doors to arguments, Hate to be the pessimist..just talking through experience. Good luck!

Oh wow, I've been through this a lot and I know how hard it is.
But really you should set yourself free from him---man, I have this old guy friend of mine who now won't even speak to me. This guy may think you're
--Not cool enough to talk to him (he could secretly be a big egoed jerk, watch out!)
--Not his type and doesn't even want to bother (if so, you can do WAY better)
--Cute/attractive/etc (but is too shy to say much. if you think this is it make sure to ask lots about him without being TOO obvious. talk to his friends also, it helps tons)
My advice is to move on because I've been through this at least ten times. It's hard to face but honestly you should try to find a guy who's worth your time. Sorry for being a downer!! Best of luck!

Men are odd sometimes. They don't experience things on the same emotional level as we do. Or at least they're good at not showing it as much. Give him some space. Maybe you give him too much information to fast. I am married to a guy that doesn't say much and it used to frustrate me. But we're great because together I guess. I talk and he listens :)

how can you "continue" to talk if it's a one sided conversation? Sounds like you picked a BORE to try to converse with, and probably a narcissist to boot!

Find someone you're more compatible with. Imagine if you married someone like this. What a lonely life.

maybe he's shy. or can't think of anything to ask you. if you kno for sure that he's interested in you you should still talk to him. find somethin that both of yall are interested in and build off of that
