You are right, we all need it!! Angelic voices and perfect attendance may fool others, but not God.

It's just a figure of speech. Usually members of the Choir are very highly religious, they are at every Church Service, have Choir practice, yes they, like all are sinners, but they tend to live a more Christian life.

technically speaking when ur preaching ur actaually preaching to the choir bc there still there and it would be kinda unmoral to be in the chior and ignore the pastor/ priest / w/e u wanna call him, however they dont get as much out of it bc the guy preaching cant stare them down

That's actually true some of the crookedest people I've known have always been at every service, pray for forgiveness but continue their wrong behaviour as soon as church is out.
