Hi, I breed collie dogs for years and this is what I could expect:
1.Bleeding spots on the floors, furniture, bed, clothes.
2. Unwanted attention from males every where, even climbing my 5 foot chain link fence to get MY GIRLS!
3. My usually well behaved girls turned into escape artist floozies!
4. More blood spots, on the floor, couch, bed, clean laundry basket!
5. Complaints from the neighbors about the stray males around the yard!
6. Puppies at a TOO YOUNG AGE if you are not diligent about protecting her and keeping her beside you leashed at ALL times for a month!
Also, and this is something a lot of folks don't know, If you do not breed her and you do not spay her, you are opening her up to a LOT of deadly Uterine Infections all due to lack of use!

my dog is in heat right now. it is DISGUSTING. get her spayed before she gets in heat! if you cant, you will need a diaper for her. you can buy dog diapers at pet supplies stores for about 7$. you have to buy "doggy pads" to put in them which are expensive. forget about buying doggy pads and use people ones, theyre way cheeper. the diaper will keep the bloody nastiness from getting all over your house. if you have another male dog, (as we do) it will keep his nose... and worse, out of her butt. dont let her outside on her own without you being with her, becaue they give off an odor when they are in heat that can attract other dogs from a mile away!!!! it lasts 2-3 weeks.... right now my babys on her like 2nd week or so and ugh is it annoying! well... good luck with your dog! oh yeah, and her ummm.... bottom (?) dont know what i can say on this site, lol... gets huge! im talking like 4 times its regular size, and it jiggles aroudn when she walks. its disgusting, the whole being in heat thing. so try and get her spayed if you can =] hope thats helpful!

Her privates will be swollen, she will bleed, she will be flirty with other dogs, males and sometimes females too. After about 10 days she will be ready to mate, but since she is still a pup, you do not want to breed her yet. Better yet, have her fixed so she doesn't get bred in the future. Keep her seperated from any males.

They go IN heat, not ON heat. Do not become a backyard breeder making money from your PET quality dog. The world has enough backyard breeders.
SPAY!!!!!!!
If you don't, YOU need to get yourself a LOT of information!!! And you do not get it here!!! You research, talk to people, and read books. If you can't put forth the effort, you have NO business breeding!

it depends on what type of dog you have. if she is little (like my pomeranian) then she will take care of it herself. If not then she may need a little help.
