I have a 2000 Honda Odyssey and a 2000 BMW 328i that I bought in Canada and brought with me to the US. Now I want to sell them here but auto dealerships will discount their trade-in price by 50% because they are Canadian. Any tips to get a better deal?

Take the deal on the van from the dealership. Sell your Bimmer privately, I assume it is Euro spec? That is one nice part about Canada ( aside from all the other good ones) is that most of the European cars are imported there as the Factory intended. Kelly Blue Book will give you a good gauge for you to set a fair price on. (www.kbb.com) Good luck, and I wish I had some extra cash to pick up that BMW!!

as long as there is a way to indicate miles per hour on the speedometer, you should be fine selling it here. I say try and sell it yourself. you may even be able to try and sell it as the "Canadian" version. At the very least, you will get curious responses. You can use Kelly Blue Book or edmonds.com to give you some gauge as to how to price it. good luck!

The best way to sell the car is on ebay. I sold a piece of junk car for $800 and i woundn't have paid a cent for it if i were looking to buy. Cars sell pretty fast too and it's convienent. Just make sure you know what your doing.
