George Bush is a political Christian. He became a "Christian" after losing his first election.
His religion is politics and his bible is based on lying, cheating & stealing.

In my view, there are two types of christians - those who say they are christians, those who practice the teachings of christianity. One can be both. By Bush I understand you mean George W Bush, the president. And the answer to your question is that I think he is Christian because he says he says he is christian. Now, those who merely say they are christians are not, in my view, true christians. They merely use christianity as a means to an end. From Constantine, through inquisition and crusades, to the present day, there are those who seek to use christianity (and Islam for that matter - through a separate chronology of course) to control people. George Bush is in this category.
Revenge, hatred, killing people, saying lies repeatedly come too easy to George Bush.
As are many of the ministers and ministries who use the church as "shops" for making money and committing all sorts of ills against the people. The angry Jesus christ who "overturned tables..." would be very angry indeed!
But I will not judge, "lest I be judged". But by eartly standards, he fails the "love of god and love of neighbour" test miserably.

OF COURSE there are liberals that are Christians.
Remember, the word Christian also describes Catholics, Lutherans, etc.
As for President Bush; if he says he is a Christian, that's good enough for me. It's really between him and God.

He claims to be a Christian - but like Scotty said, I don't know what is in Bush's heart. Only God knows that.

No, because Jesus helped the poor. He would not rob from the poor to give to the rich. He is among the Rich Powerful Religious leaders that Jesus comdemed when he was on earth.
He was for the poor, the widows the disadvantaged. He didn't come up with cruel reasoning. If I feed these starving people they won't work. No, he feed the starving people.

That is what he confessed. Is he living up to his obligations as a Christian? I believe so, he clearly puts God first in his life. but God is the ultimate judge and GWB is accountable for the way he led his people.
The Q is, are there any liberals that are Christians? : P

Since Christ Jesus told his apostle, Peter- after Peter had stood up for Jesus and cut off the ear of one of the men who came to get Jesus for his execution-
“Return your sword to its place, for all those who take the sword will perish by the sword. Or do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father to supply me at this moment more than twelve legions of angels? (Matthew 26:52, 53)
It seems apparent that anyone who professed to be a true follower of Jesus, thus 'Christ-like', would have the same mentality as he did and would not support, or participate in, war.

I don't know the "man" G.W. Bush. "Judge the tree by it's fruits". They certainly don't look like what Christ would like to harvest.
Hate your enemies?? Kill those who insult and persecute you?? etc??
How can that be Christian?

He is cruel enough, bone-headed enough and intolerant enough to be a Christian, but I think he is a Hypo-Christian.

He certainly acts like one. By that, I mean the way a lot of other hypocritical Christians act, not "Christ-like," the way they're supposed to.
