Diego was Married to Guadalupe Rivera Marin, their daughter became one of the first female politicians in Mexico.

Diego divorced Guadalupe and Married Frida Kahlo, and then divorced her, and remarried her a few times.

In the meantime Diego maintained affairs with Dolores Olmedo Patino, Dolores del Rio and some other not so famous women.
