The local library usually has a book on making and hanging curtains in the home decorating section. Or look at a J.C. Penney Catalog. Go to a home store such as Linens & Things for suggestions.

Buy a bolt of material and play with it. You can experiment without cutting the total length. Plan. Expedite.

OK, my bolt is still whole, still planning. I chose bubble gauze from Dharmatrading.com

Play with sheets, cheaper than a bolt, or light weight blankets. You'll get the feel of the fabric, literally and the eye appeal.

Jo-Ann fabrics actually has patterns for this sort of thing. Check the home decorating section of their pattern books.

ask at the B&T section of the public library they have homes and gardens mags with window projects and ideas or house beautiful theres alot of resources there ,, an olde house painter
