The fuller the fridge/freezer is, the more efficient it operates. (Uses less energy). Just make sure things don't fall out and hit you in the foot.

Sorry "Just Me" , over filling your freezer is a disaster waiting to happen and possibly damage the unit. Most newer model refrigerator/freezers have a fan in the freezer compartment. You must never fill the freezer so full that it covers up the vent. It overtaxes the motor & fan and can burn out a key component that keeps the tempurature cold enough to freeze and keep already frozen food cold enough. Do you have such a large family thatit is really cheaper to buy in bulk? You may want to consider shopping more often for food and either use it before freezing such large or at least try to use the frozen food within a week or so. You'll be happier with the end result, avoid freezer burn (you are re-wrapping this food in freezer paper and not freezing it in the original package, aren't you?!) and not run the risk of ruining your freezer. Besides, fresh is better!
