A couple of times, when going to the powder room of a retail store, there was toilet paper, paper towels everywhere and just a soppy wet mess on the counters.
When no one is around I pick up the papers and wipe down the counters, because I feel sorry for the cleaning lady that has to face the mess.
Really, I can't believe women don't pick up after themselves or just throw it on the floor.
Men are you just as guilty for messy public restrooms?

I'm not PERSONALLY guilty, but I have seen men's washrooms in pretty sad states. And not just 'soppy wet messes', either; on some occasions I've seen large quantities of poo splattered across the floor...man is that disgusting.
Of course, some washrooms are also quite clean. It really depends on the people who use them.

I do the same thing. I am always finding myself wiping down the counters or picking up the papers people leave around. I feel bad for the people who have to clean up after messy people like that.

You're not crazy, you are considerate. After I wash my hands, I take a paper towel and wipe up the splashes of water I have left. I hate public restrooms for that reason - people go in there an act like pigs - disgusting.

I try really hard to not go into public restrooms unless I cannot get around it. I am a germaphobe and I cannot stand using public restrooms. I never clean up other peoples messes, I applaud you for doing that out of the goodness of your heart. If those people who made those messes were more like you, you probably wouldn't have to clean them up!

Yes, I do it too. Sometimes when the toilet floor is wet and dirty, I get a huge wad of toilet paper and clean/mop it up using my foot to manoeuvre it. Pick up the mess with more toilet paper. I'll do it when I'm in the mood, not all the time.

I see that at work too. Quiet frankly, I don't think most men even bother washing their hands after using the restroom.

if the germs dont bother you its great but i am a germ freak so i never would have done it one time i got sick from washing my hands too much but i think that what you did was great i also feel sorry for the cleaning crew.i wizh i could be more like you and i hope people who read this will also feel like they need to help!

You can get sick from doing that! Even pick up a staph infection, what the majority of people die from in hospitals. I hope you scour your hands, you don't know where their's have been! Eewhh!

hey...you're not crazy.....you're just but a normal and helpful citizen...Sometimes people are not aware and not sensitive how they use the pubic facilities...as long as they use it,...and forget about the cleanliness, for all they thought somebody will clean their mess....they just dont know...that they are carrying with them their attitude from home to public place.....and that's too shameful....
You know what,at home im the one who cleans our restroom....and i'll make sure i clean everything....t.c.

i also clean up a little if no one is around. it bugs me and i, too, feel sorry for the cleaning person.
