yes they are,,as long as they have been taken good care of,,the problem with nice cars like this is people think they will last forever,,and they don't take as good of care of them as they should,,i own a repair shop,,and see a lot of neglect in more of the nicer cars then the cheaper ones,,this is giving some of the more nicer cars bad names because of owner neglect,,but a good BMW would make a nice used car,,as long as it has been taken good care of,,there a classy car,,and look really good,,if you can find a good one buy it there a good investment,,good luck with it,,i hope this help,s.

You hit a field that is so loaded with opinion as to be impossible to get a "right" answer here, but, as most others, I'm good for an opinion, so here goes. I'm a German car man. I'd buy German cars over Jap cars any day of the week. That's not to say that the Jap cars are no good. Quite the contrary! AND, I bought my daughter a 2006 Honda Accord because of the reliability of Honda cars and because that was her choice among the options I gave her. My son, on the contrary, wanted a VW Jetta TDI, a diesel car, because he had seen the excellent performance my old '81 Rabbit diesel gave me and my 2002 Jetta TDI is giving me. BUT, I'm talking NEW cars here, not USED cars, and the greatest factor here besides which particular model car you're looking at is how the last owner handled it, or cared for it. A Rolls Royce can be ruined by a careless driver, so the previous driver's care for the car is CRUCIAL!! Also, knowing why the previous owner is selling it is crucial, and knowing where it's been kept and what weather conditions it has had to endure is crucial, such as floods and hurricanes, etc.. But, assuming you've given thought to all that, you haven't told us WHICH BMW OR TOYOTA YOU'RE LOOKING AT. Do you have two particular ones you're considering? That makes a HUGE difference. ALL THAT HAVING BEEN SAID, BMW and Toyota make excellent cars. Toyota's most noted for it's Camry and I'm not sure of the BMW line enough to know if they have a particular one that they're noted for. All other factors being considered, I can't see how you'd go wrong with either car, depending on the particulars of that specific car. Me?! Well, as I said, I'm a German car man, and I'd look very favorably towards the BMW before considering the Toyota, but that has no mechanical reasons behind it at all. Just my preference. Just think of the things I've said above, and more, and, both cars being in good shape, I can't see how you can go wrong. God Bless you.

Wow what a difference? BMW can be great cars if kept up with maintence. Can you close the glove box or is it full of recipts? Cost to properly keep a BMW is high. Toyota is a pedestrian car that can live with only oil changes and air filters. The Toyota owner does not expect speed and handling.

a used car is only as good as its owner. check car fax on any used vehicle u buy. reliability as far as the vehicle itself can be found on autotrader in the research section. if you are comparing manufactures ex. toyota vs bmw? you really are asking for ones taste not the about toyota or bmw. personally i like bmw because of the features that are available but i dont like the cost of repairs and service. i like toyota because of its suv line. 4 runner ,sequoia, ect.. if your asking opinion, everyones got one. if your asking about facts, you need to research for yourself and form your own OPINION.

why sure a bmw is better than a toyota, just look at the latest recall list and you won't find bmw there but toyota is #1 on recalls followed by honda.

They arent as reliable as Toyotas when they age plus more expensive to repair; so prepare to dish out $$$$ if the the car is over 4 years old.

Of course not, everyone knows Toyota's are the best used cars, most relaible engines. Why would you compare that to a used Beamer?
