A guy friend asked me out on a date, and i do not really like him that way, i like him as a friend. he is just so irrogant and he thinks he is a catch, but i don't think he is for me.

Stop playing the ignore game and just tell him that you like him only as a friend and be firm and make sure he gets the message. If he chooses to no longer be your friend, then thats this loss.

Be honest. Don't lead him on or make excuses and expect him to get the hint. Just tell him you only think of him as a friend and you aren't interested in going beyond that. In the long run it will hurt his feelings a lot less than making him think he's still got a shot.
