Is there a new urban legend that says Subway subs make you lose weight? If there is, don't believe it. The only reason Subway or any subs for that matter would make you lose weight is if you have been eating lots of greasy burgers and fries at tast food outlets and you switch to eating at Subway where the food is more healthy and less calories.

No, no food makes you lose weight. That guy on TV that did it walked several miles to the Subway, only ate vegetable subs and walked home. He was also hugely fat. It is easy to lose weight when you are very fat. Keeping off, however, is a lifetime of work. Any diet like that is unhealthy. Never go on a diet without proper guidance from a doctor or nurse.

They don't MAKE you lose weight, but if you eat a healthy sub, they can help you lose weight. Obviously you would need to get a sub without fatty meats, mayo, and cheese to accomplish that. They actually have a lot of really good, healthy sandwiches there.

I'm sure they'd like you to think so but, the truth is, you'll lose weight as long as you burn more calories than you take in. Also, if you try to starve yourself (and consume very, very few calories such as just a few celery sticks per day) then your body will do what it can to resist the weight loss.

So, a Subway sandwich has no "magic powers." It's just a sandwich.

Well I been on weight watchers for about 5 months now and I couldn't give up subway since its my favorite fast food(if you will even call it that) place. It all matters what you put on the sandwich like vegetables and cold cuts are great but if your getting dressing make it fat free if optional. Also try whole wheat bread instead of regular. -good luck, hope this helps

Any kind of healthy food, consumed in moderation will allow you to lose weight. I know a woman who was on a diet. She bought a package of those "diet" Double Stuff Oreo's. Well she ate the whole thing in one sitting! Wondered why she didn't lose any weight, and got upset when I suggested that they weren't meant to be eaten a whole package at one time. Go figure.

If you eat Subway sandwiches (the bread) no you won't loose weight.

If you eat from the sandwich menu and make it into a salad yes you will loose wight.

The bread is high in carbs which converts to sugar, and the sugar converts into BODY FAT!!!

It's a vicious cycle!
