you what? do you not think that would be a little strange? the only thing I have ever seen a robin pulling at is a worm or a garden fork.

it because thats the way it is! I am pritty shore that robins were around long before Jesus and that the had red breasts for a lot of years before hand.

Most birds that can fly have some way of attracting the attention of a member of the same species, at a distance. My best guess is that female robins were more likely to notice a male robin with that distinctive coloration.

First of all their bellies are orange. And I have never heard that particular story. Birds see in color and their males orange breasts attract female robins.
