Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

We don't need churches. I can see where some might have the need for a place to focus and be with God. If that is what they need, then good for them.
A church, loosely defined, is a place where one can find mental peace and feel closer to God. With that definition in mind, my church services are 6 - 7:30 am, each Sunday morning, at the local laundromat with a good novel in one hand and a 20-oz Irish Cream cappucino purchased for $1.27 at the local gas station in the other. All shall be welcomed with a smile and a nod of the head.

Hi Hotzonele...
The buildings are Ideas of the Catholic and Prodestant. The word church comes from the Greek word ekklesia, which means called out ones....
Paul and his gang met for the most part in homes and even along the river.
Paul alway's went to the Church. The Church did not go to Paul. That is a different twist is it not?..... Paul never ever collected tithes. That is another twist is it not? Paul worked. He said that every man should work. The reason he never ask for tithes. The tithing law was done away when the priestly laws were abolished. Tithing was a part of the priest laws. I'm a preacher, I go to the Church. The people. The prodestants and catholic lie about many things..... I will show to you one and then go away.
For the most part I continue to be somewhat amazed as to the beliefs of inteltigent living, breathing, thinking, reasoning ( or capable of thinking ) beings.
It truely is mind boggling as to what people believe without study or research into the validity of the things which they are told or taught. Most people that call themselves christian believe there is a place that is called hell that has an everburning fire. They believe this because they have been taught from the time they were small children that such a place does exsit. A place where upon death, evil people are forced to go and are tormented eternally with a fire that is seemingly destitute of the power to burn up or destroy or even blister. Would a God that say's He is love (1John 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.) really assign such a penalty upon a person which was of his own creation? A place that does not destroy, a place that is only capable of mentally tormenting for ever and ever. A place that is controled by a person wearing a red body suit with a long tail which has a trident on the end?
There is no ever burning hell.
The English word hell is written 23 times in the New Testament King James version. It is translated 11 time from the Greek word hades {hah'-dace} which means grave.
It is translated 12 times from the greek word geenna {gheh'-en-nah} which should have been rendered "Gehenna" or "Gehenna of fire". ". This was originally the valley of Hinnom, south of Jerusalem, where the filth and dead animals of the city were cast out and burned; a fit symbol of the wicked and their future destruction.
It is the place of the future punishment of those that will not enter into the Kingdom of God. A one time punishment not an eternial punishing.
An Italian Florentine poet, Durante degli Alighieri, better known as Dante Alighieri or just Dante, June 1, 1265 – September 13/14, 132, created the idea of the hell that is taught to the world. Through his stage play la Divina Commedia (The Divine Comedy) the whole world has been and is being decived about a place that does not exist nor will it ever come into being.. The Divine Comedy describes Dante's journey through Hell (Inferno), Purgatory (Purgatorio), and Paradise (Paradiso). It was only a play, the works of the imagination of a man. However the Roman Catholic Church took the idea and ran with it and has long since convinced an unsuspecting world that
the writings of Dante are indeed an acurate rendition of a place of eternal punishing of all evil people. God is in total disagreement with the Catholic Church and all other that preach and teach that there is an ever burning hell, a place of eternal punishing, a place where the evil go after death.
Malachi 4:1 For, behold, the day is coming, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yes, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day thats coming shall burn them up, say's the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
Malachi 4:2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and you shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
Malachi 4:3 And you shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, say's the LORD of hosts.
Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
Rev 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
Rev 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Rev 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
Rev 5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth
If you noticed, the dead are indeed dead. Not in heaven. They are awaiting a resurrection. After the resurrection they rule on earth, not in heaven...
Jesus was born in October..... He was in the tomb three days and three night, not two days and one night as the christians tell you. Have a good day....

For fellowship, support, spiritual growth, learning and as a refuge from the world. The original "church" was not a bespoke building, but a congregation of christians who worshipped together and drew strength and guidance from each other. Eventually, churches were build just as temples had been built for other faiths as a physical place to go and worship, present gifts, get married, attend the sabbath and much more besides. We need to worship together and have fellowship together as God gives us all different gifts and blessings and we can all benefit from each other. God bless.

For the same reason that we have courts, school buildings, and law offices. They are a convient place for people to meet for a given activity, in this case, community worship.
You are correct in your unspoken assumption, however. We do not "need" churches to worship God. God can be worshipped in houses, swimming pools, open fields, submarines, etc. What is important is the attitude of the hearts involved, not the decor of the building one is in (or not).

People need Church's to go to sometimes, to help them when they are in need and also somewhere to go show their respect to god and worship him with song, but if you do not go to church is does not matter because god is everywhere and if you pray to him he will try and help you.

I don't really like going to church. I prefer to have a more 1-on-1 relationship with God and just use prayer

A church is a great place to plug into a community, something most of us are lacking. When you share time with people that are just as eager to learn about and experience God, you'll find your faith soaring. When you need help doing something, there are people readily available to help you out. When you're struggling with bad habits, chances are there are people there struggling with similar issues.

To get together with other people who feel the same way you do. Church is more about people than about God.

I don`t go to Church, but Im a Christian. I think that the building is being use as a hiding place, you can go there on Wednesday or Sunday, and see the Christians worshiping and praising God, But why is it we don`t see them in the streets, worshiping him? isn`t that where the sinners are, and ain`t we suppose to seek the lost. are we ashamed to praise and worship him out in public?

Perhaps most Christians have unrealistic expectations of God. Church is a good thing though, to worship God, and fellowship with one another.
