Lilith
In the Babylonian tradition, there is a triad of demons with whom Lilith is associated. The male is called Lilu, and the two females are Lilitu, a frigid, barren, & husbandless demon who roamed the night searching for men to seduce or drink their blood, and Ardat Lili, the 'maid of desolation.'
Lilith is thought be the demon of waste places who originally lived in the garden of the Sumerian goddess, Innana, queen of heaven. She is mentioned only briefly in the Hebrew Bible in Isaiah 34:14.
In Jewish traditions, Lilith was created with Adam from the dust of the earth, & became his first wife. She was stubborn, though, & refused to be subservient to her husband. Instead of becoming Adam's servant, she left him & was turned out of Paradise. However, before God created Eve, He sent 3 angels to try to convince Lilith to return to Adam. She refused, & God cursed her by sentencing 100 of her offspring to die each day. After her expulsion from Paradise, however, she slept once more with Adam, & bore the Shedim, Lilin, & Rauchin.
Later, in Kabbalistic circles, Lilith became the mistress of Sammael.
It is mistakenly thought that Lilith's name was derived from the Hebrew word lailah, which means 'night.' This was probably derived from the similarity of the two words, and the idea that Lilith was mostly active at night.

First of all, I think Eve and Adam are mythical entities. However, inferring from the story in the Bible and other commentaries on the subject, it would seem that there was a woman before Eve. One compelling piece of evidence is that, if you believe the Bible story about creation, god created every animal in pairs of female and male, and going by the same token, it would be highly unlikely that he had the oversight to create only Adam, and Eve later as an afterthought when he seemingly knew well enough to create pairs all along.
Again, in Genesis, remember when god, in his zeal for 'killing' and scorn for vegeterianism, developed bias again Cain in favour of Abel the animal-slayer? Well, Cain killed Abel, and he was banished to some far off land. And here is the clincher! That far of land had people, who would be punished seven times seven...or whatever...if they harmed Cain. Where did these people come from if, as of that time, there should have been only three people living (since Abel was dead). Forget about the disgraced angels who fell from heaven because these are not people!
It would seem to me that god created man and woman - and this much is in the bible ("Man and woman he created them"). There must have been a power struggle of some sort - after all they were made equal, from clay or whatever! So they had to be separated somehow, the woman being banished to some far off land. To avoid power struggles, a woman had to be part of a man, hence the deep sleep and rib story!
In short, therefore, there had to have been another woman! In all fairness, however, it is all mythical, and a convenient prologue for male dominance.

"Lillith" was a religiously-themed fairy tale told in the Middle Ages. She was supposedly created next to Adam, but was a Djinn and not human. It is not based on truth, just on some men's obsession on "proper sex" --ie men have to be "superiour" in all things. (YAWN).
The tale of "Lillith" was never in the Bible or the Torah. It is about as real as Grim's Fairy Tales, Star Wars, Doom, and Narnia. Personally, I find the ones I just mentioned a lot more interesting reading, but that is my interest in fairy tales.

There was an African lady that has Mitochondria DNA and everyone in this work is linked to her. Of coruse we do not know her name, but we call her "Eve" because traditionally the first lady on earth was known to be Eve.

Lillth was in the Torah, I think or some ancient Hebrew book. She was Adam's first wife, but wanted to be on the top during sex and Adam refused, so she got mad and left him. I guess that would make her the first women's rights protester. No, I'm not making it up.

eve is a metaphor for growth.
there is no woman and no garden and no fruit. eve was not first, but she was the first we remember because she represents an awakening of our abilities. before eve, we sat naked in the garden and knew not.
and then everything changed, it may be good or bad, but growing up is always harder than remaining a child.
