If you want an O/U and don't want to fork out a ton of money, without a doubt yes. They have selective triggers and all the chokes and with an O/U there's really not much that can go wrong. New most of them are pretty stiff, but they loosen up a little after you get some rounds through them. If you always wanted an over under though, you're not gonna find anything better any cheaper.

An O/U for around $500 that comes with a life time replacement warranty, Remigton must be pretty proud of it....For the money you might want to compare it to a Charles Daly or Mossberg Silver Reserve...You can check them all out at this site.

It's not really a hunting arm, it's more made for cowboy action. I think it can shoot regular shells as well. It's cheap, that's one major plus. I'd personally get a remington 870 though.

make the extra effort by American name you can trust like Remington can't go wrong just ask yourself this question how ofter will you be buying a new shotgun ? so get the best US has to offer
