I don't celebrate Christmas, so I really do not worry about it.

Hey ast5792
Because Christmas is a pagan holiday and the new non believer don't wan't to come out and play. Jesus was born in the month of October. Count. He was 33 and 1/2 years of age when He was killed. He was killed in the month of April. His next birthday is Oct.
A free one....
We have no way of knowing how many wise men there were.
We do know that by the time the Magi had gotten to where Jesus was, His parents had moved him into a house and he was now being called a young child, which means that he was a year old or older when they arived to present their gifts.
Mat 2:11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.
There could have been six, twelve, or just two.
Have a good day.....

It's taken over 2,000 years to write all the Xmas songs up to this point. How often should new ones come out?
It's true, the last new one I remember was "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer," but there were a spate before that one.
Actually, the Country and Western Genre creates new ones, practically every year. But new ones do come out, on occasion. "Santa, Baby" "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Clause" "Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer" "White Christmas" are all relatively modern issues.
Note to "Miss Elect__" I suppose you mean that you only enjoy Silent Night in the original German?

Because it's hard to write songs about a Jolly Holiday where a Fat guy breaks into your home at night to leave a bunch of presents, then rides off on not only on a group of reindeer, but flying reindeer! It's hard to imagine that stuff in such a materialistic world filled with violence, chaos, and hate. But, good suggestion, someone besides Beyonce should write a new original Christmas song.

They do make new xmas songs, but they generally aren't as popular. I think it's because over time, you hear them repeated each year and come to associate them with xmas. They just take a while to sink into everyone as xmas songs.

There are new Christmas songs but people like to listen to the old classic ones because they are so much better and they remind us of our childhood.

What about "Don't They Know it's Christmastime", actually maybe it's titled "Feed the World", anyway---- from a huge music production called "Band Aid" organized in the 80's, and it raised money to to feed starving people in Ethiopa. It's a catchy tune.

there are many new ones, it will take them many of years to become main stream x-mas songs, people do not like change, the old songs remind every one of their child hood, i like manhiem steam roller or frank sinatra x-mas songs
