Try this: No computers, television, telephone or electronic games of any sort after 9pm. Only books and homework. See how that works.

I'm there with a 15 year old too! Take the caffeine soda away.....none after 6pm. This does help.....They need to learn to wind down on their own, and it is hard to do at this age of computers, my space, etc. A nap after school seems to help mine....she sleeps from 4:00 - 6:00......up and goes to bed about midnight. This gives her a total of 8 hrs sleep....and on the weekends she sleeps at least 12 hours each day! By the way, she is an excellent student and very active in the community and church. So as long as there is nothing to worry about concerning his health....don't worry...he'll sleep, when needed. Remember to take away the caffeine!

Its not so bad if he can get up in the morning without too much trouble. If he's hard to rouse, then some adjustment to his routine will have to take place. Some kids as well as adults don't need as much sleep as others.
As he progresses in school, it may be that he will require more sleep in order to do well on assignments and exams.

So what's you problem?
Different individuals have different habits. It's not dangerous or unhealthy exactly unless it's affecting his health or schooling etc.
