My friend is out in the woods and just gave me a call about her dog getting stung. There isn't a vet anywhere. I did some quick research and read she should remove the sting and use bicarbonate of soda. Any other suggestions?

Not to worry... he will be alright.. HOWEVER.. If you know where he was stung.. get a pair of tweezers and try to get the stinger out.. if you cannot.. do not worry.. it will work itself out in short time..

Most times there is no reaction to a bee stings. Just keep watching the dog for signs of an allergic reaction such as swelling.
If you see a reaction to the sting, give benadryl. Here's a site with the dosage by weight.

You will want to watch for "anaflectic" shock (allergic reaction) if this should happen you will want to give the dog some benadryl or like product (steroid)
Because I have a dog that has had a reaction in the past I always keep some prednasone on hand

My dog was stung and a vet prescribed prednisone, its a steroidal pill for skin rashes. Not the same kind of steroids as you here of being abused.. Cured it within days. If there is any way you can get some of this. I would be the best cure without a doubt.

He won't have an allergic reaction the 1st time he's stung, it takes an preliminary exposure for an allergy to kind so it does not be obvious till the 2d time. he would be disillusioned and in discomfort and this might final the the remainder of the day. Do you have a malicious program internet for the stroller?

Give it a child's dose of Benadryl. If the face swells up bad especially around the mouth and nose, take to the vett's asap.

give Benadryl - otherwise leave it alone. Dogs were getting stung long before we were their companions, her dog will be ok.
