You need NTL, cable, unless you want to keep a bt line, as the only truely wireless company hasnt any where near rolled out yet.
Keep your bt line BUT bar all outgoing calls, and take name of person spoke to to do this, and time of call, also write to them, keeping copy of letter, (include premium rate...all calls to be barred).
If bt bill wrongly....dont worry, you'll win in small claims court, as you have evidence your only liability is the line rental....
Then seek a calls package, and internet, separatly. Sky will be top, when fully rolled out!
Ntl are average, if you only do net with them, you can only have net cut off in billing disputes!
I find ntl the better of a bad bunch, in terms of staff being able to add refunds to bill immediatly (show up on next bill) rather than bt argue, or have to put through to billing, which just rings and rings, again!

Don't use BT if you think you're getting a raw deal.
Use another Internet provider and a decent mobile phone package.

For those people answering the question that don't realise, the question is being asked by someone living in the UK!
Telewest and the like are very limited, if at all available in the UK!

try opting for a company that offers broadband and phone as one service via your bt phone line , works out much cheaper and you know how much you will spend each month.

go for talktalk from carphonewarehouse , you can get phone and broadband for about £20 a month with free calls thrown in , they use your existing bt line and you keep your number and get 1 bill for both

£370 is awfully high, is that 1 month or quarter ? either way its too much, you're wasting your money . . . . . phone around and find out whats on offer . . . . what are you waiting for ?? ! ? ?!?

If you want to get away from BT altogether, go with cable or sattelite (very expensive).

You also have the option of switching your telephone to cell or VOIP.

This way, they won't get ANY of your money!

If you think BT is bad, try SBC/ATT in the US. I wanted to kick my kitten into the fan, they were so bad. I wanted to, but I didn't. He would kill me. Anyway, I got cable net and swicthed to MCI for home.
