i like that name and would totally steal it from you.
But yeah, get the cat first. The name should be suitable for the cat. All Calico cats are female, and if you find a male cat cat that you like I would consider a different name (maybe more masculine?). Although Topaz is a fairly decent name for a male, the stone Topaz is quite feminine.
If the cat is orange or red colored and female, I would probably go with Ruby. well i wouldn't because I don't care much for the name because it's not very original, but that opinion is not up to me, it is up to you.

You really don't see a lot of truly calico cats -- most of the body is white with large spots of orange and black.
I have a tortoiseshell cat with a large white "bib" and white paws. Her name is Cameo and though she is 22 yrs old now that name is so perfect for her as she is a jewel of a cat.

Both are cute, but I agree with waiting until you see your new baby. I happen to think Callie is a cute name for a calico kitten, but that's just my opinion.

I've often found that if you pick a name BEFORE you've got a cat at all, it tends to end up not fitting the cat. It's best to wait until you have one....the perfect name will come to you.

Name the cat on by its personality and look. The name will come the second you see the cat.
