Tell him nicely, don't let him bring up reasons you should stay together, and tell him quickly. Don't linger afterwards, really, that will give him time to work on your pity. If you aren't crazy about him you will be doing him a favor by letting him off the hook so he can meet someone who can feel things for him that you don't and you can get on with your life and new adventures. Good luck hon.

The sharp edge of a surgeon's scalpel is by far less painful than an old rusty knife. Tell him the truth, don't hold anything back, and be quick about it ... while you still can be friends.

So what? You're going to stay with him just because you can't open your mouth and let 5 little words come out. Would you wanna be strung along? Boy, talk about cruel.

Always try to tell him before you move on it will help your future reputation. You of course are free to move on, but always break it off first. You'll save your good name.
Hope this helps.

"the truth will set you free" isn't just a famous quote, it's a way to live by. If he understands you, he'll recogonize that the truth is to his advantage.

Mustang_susie, think you are looking for the idiot thread.
Poster: just tell him you don't fancy him. The truth hurts, for a while.
