I would repeat what I said previous to you saying "what"?

If I knew you, I would say "Huh?"
If I knew you but didn't like you, I would say "Whatever."
If I knew you and adored you, I would say "OK, baby!"
If I didn't know you, I would say "Where?"
If I didn't know you and you were funny looking, I would say "Purple."
If I didn't know you and you were talking to your imaginary friend, I would say "Rabbit!"

However, for me to answer "Why and where and when" all at once, you would have to be my knight in shining armour.

No. I can't stand people who ask a lot of questions. We have a nosey neighbor who starts every sentence with "Now..." and a million questions follow. Can't stand her and we call her Now.
