My children would be Jewish like me, and my own faith will not change because I am going out with a non-Jew (in fact his father is Jewish, but that doesn't 'count'), so how can I find sanction for this relationship? In my opinion mixed relationships promote inter-racial understanding and richness and potential for cultural integration of minority groups, so surely a good thing?

When referring to mixed relationships, do you mean racial ones or religious ones? I see nothing wrong with racially mixed relationships. However, surely you can understand the complications that would arise between people of differing faiths. Your children would be Jewish like you because you raise them as such, right? That still doesn't account for your partner. If your views on the afterlife differ, it makes for an awkward afterlife. Just my 2 cents of course. :) God bless.

My suggestion would be to define which issues of your respective religions are the most important and begin the compromise there. Then you can move onto the smaller items.

They aren't in my book. Do what feels right for you. Do what fosters love.
