I live in north central Massachusetts. I frequent Vermont quite often, I even went white water rafting there.I enjoy Brattleboro, it has a bit of everything to camping, fishing, shopping. Its less than 50 miles from where I live, and has the best New England "feeling". Beautiful shops, seasonal activities, and its close and accessible to New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and New York. In the fall (which is my fav time of year) Brattleboro has long windey roads through the forests under covered bridges and the foliage is spectacular. You will drive over and past hills and see the foliage for miles.Visit some of the local shops or fairs are the spots to hit up now. If you don't live in the area and want to get the most out of I'd recommend it. You can easily travel to other places, but if staying there your whole time, that's cool too. Also enjoy the cozy Bed and Breakfasts.

There are two places in Vermont that I have loved... One is Calvin Coolidge State Park... The views are amazing... One night myself & my loved one fell asleep to the rain in a lean-to the park service provided. In the morning, fog filled the valley, partly revealing a lake below. The incredible, green mountiains, fluffy, white clouds, and beautiful mountains provided a view that I will never forget. ...The Green Mountains of Vermont are also a beautiful site which I hiked through many years ago.

I like any DMV of Vermont because they give you the license plate on the very day of application.
