Actually he referred to an observation made hundreds of years ago that's still is very true today. That conduct of Islam persists in todays world attempting political conquest and religious conversion through the sword.
It's long History is the evidence for this conclusion. Not to mention other less known massacres such as the attempted annihilation of the Armenians about 100 years agoby the Muslim turks.

Actually if you read more in detail about what he said and compare it to the reality of Islam it is a perfect match.

The pope is holding better cards than Muslims and he called them out! Its high time the Catholics start facing their age old enemy instead of pretending it doesnt exist and NOT doing what John Paul did; kiss a copy of the Quran. You cant appease evil or terror, it only leads to your own destruction.

For one, not all Muslims are evil. The only one that fall into that category are the radicals. There are a lot of Muslims who do not agree with the radicals and wish they would stop raging war in the name of God. There is a big difference between a Muslim and A radical Muslim. Please learn the difference. As for what the pope said, I have no idea what he said, for I have been taking care off a sick baby all day. But, if you feel that I am taking the OTHER side, please read some of my other posts. Please open your eyes and learn the difference.

*sigh*, he never said Muslims were evil. He quoted a conversation that took place 700 years ago emphasizing that the spread of religion by jihad or holy war was evil.

If you wanna go after the new pope, there's plenty of things to do it with. How about him telling Germany they need to help the poor less, and tell people to be Christian more. Don't DO it, just SAY it!!!

You must have not read or listened to the whole statement. If you had you would have learned that he was quoting from a medieval book that was written during a war between Christianity and Isam....same thing that's going on now. He went on to say that violence it not the way to convert people.....get all the info next time!

No the Pope has not gone mad.

He was trying to accomplish what everyone else wants, to end the violence that has accompanied Islam/Muslim from the beginning.

He wanted to open talks with them and was trying to get them to stop the violence during this time.

Alas, biblically this cannot happen as God stated that their hand would be against every man and every mans hand against them.

We cannot change biblical prophecy, even though in this case I truely wish we could.

The Pope told the Truth. Do you know Truth?

He has the guts to say it.

You show me where the Bible says: Not to preach truth, and tickle ears.

The Pope lives for GOD..

NOT, Fox News.

I DON'T LIKE THE POPE, BUT I AGREE WITH WHAT HE SAID. BUT HE DIDN'T SAY MUSLIMS ARE EVIL. HE SHOULDN'T HAVE TO APOLOGIZE FOR SPEAKING THE TRUTH.
