Only you can file for a restraining order unless you mean an order of protection which a court can issue if they feel there is a threat against you or your child..

It means that you need to find out who it was that filed that restraining order against your ex on your behalf. If she threatened to kill you, then the restraining order is pretty much weak unless she has had prior history of saying this and actually attempting to act on it. I don't think your kid will be affected by this at all. Do you have sole custody of the kid? If so, then this restraining order someone else filed on your behalf won't do anything that would affect the arrangement. Once you find out who it was that filed the restraining order on your behalf, find out why it was done. Personally, the person who filed it on your behalf shouldn't have filed one to begin with. You're supposed to file it yourself. I suggest you call back the court on Monday when they open to talk to them about it. Then go from there. Good luck.

ready_k, the only reason females(and I am one, but then again in your case that means I'm crazy. In that same jugular, I could say that all men who say that all females are crazy are a bunch of jacka*ses who are in dire need of a brain transplant. Usually they're also threatened by a girl who speaks her mind[those who claim that all women are crazy]) are crazy like you claim they are is probably because of jerkoffs like you.

Maybe the judge issued a restraining order as a condition of pre-trial release for the person who tried to kill you. She can have no contact with you and your kid.

If someone overheard that, they could have filed the restraining order. Sounds like a good idea. You could have someone from the court drop your child off. It is best that you not put your child in harms way if she is going to try to hurt you.
