I spent 3 years in Vietnam, 1967 until 1970. In "68" I was shot twice in the chest, and surrvived by the grace of God, Only to be held captive by the V.C. until the end of "68"(8 months captive) Then I was liberated by the same Special Forces Unit I served with, the Mighty 7th. Unthinkable attrocoties were inflicted on me during that time, Nails ripped out, (fingers and toes) teeth pulled out, (all of them) and my wounds ripped open on a regular basis. The other things are too-graphic to mention here on this web-site. All that being said, where is all the "Forgivness" in peoples hearts now-days? I dont run around and shoot every Vietnamese person I see. In fact, I have no animosity towards them whatsoever! It was WAR, and all of the Vietnamese did not torture me. Just as sure as ALL muslims were not flying those aircraft on 9/11! Have a heart my brothers and sisters, forgive, but never forget. target the ones who have earned your hatred, not the innocent. God Bless you all. God Bless America, And Our Troops! 1st. Sgt., 7th Special Forces, (Ret.) Vietnam, "67"-"70"

Sir God bless you & God bless all who have a lil passion in their hearts! I'm an Iraqi muslim girl, & I know that religions will never ever make people kill each other! Our Prophet says "everything that doesn't have passion within it stinks"! & I've learned all my life not to generalize the bad or the good over a certain people. Before this war people used to think all of us Iraqis are dumb, love Saddam, & are content with our lives when in fact we were abused & terrorized to the max! then came Bin Laden who abused & terrorized us not just because we're Iraqis, but he extended his wrath on all muslims!! because of him & people like him we're ashamed!!! He grew hatred for us in most people's hearts after Saddam had grown it for all the Iraqis!! I'm sorry for all the killings & torture that the soldiers go through, but you can see that it's not a religious thing because what's happening now took place in Vietnam too (not so Islamic back then!) it's because people are neither controlled nor judged for their actions! for instance, why is Saddam still alive? & what's the purpose of this trial show? everybody knows what kind of bastard he is but no one is doing anything about it, & the result is more deaths & tortue to Iraqis & Americans alike! I'm not saying this just to make u feel good, but I respect the US army & I'm forever grateful for them! God bless you & I hope people in charge start to make reasonable actions for the sake of humankind!

I am thankful for your service.
I am also 100% with you on the forgiveness issue. I heard a story that truly touched me the other day and drives your point home even more. November 2001 an American Muslim Marine that was fighting in Afghanistan was sent home on emergency leave because his parents were shot to death for being Muslims. Too many people have hatred in their hearts and act out of hatred without knowing the facts. There is a big difference between Muslims and Radical Islamists. This War on Terrorism will not end until we as Americans, as well as Europeans, recognize the difference and start treating Muslims as equals. If we don't, we'll just keep fostering the growth of Radical Islam.

Well said sir. and you are right. We can't blame all muslims, or all Iraqs. Hell some of our biggest supporters are Iraqs here in the states. It is a shame that a few sicko's can stain a whole country or religion. It would be like blaming all Germans for what Hilter and his cronnies did. From what I understand of Islam, muslims don't kill muslims, yet you got different groups of muslims killing other muslim groups. We just need to target the extremist, and let them get on with thier lifes in thier part of the world, and they should leave us be. (good luck with that though, but we can hope)

Thank you for your service to our country. I'm terribly sorry that you went through what you did in Vietnam. I agree with you that there needs to be more forgiveness in the world. By no means should we forget what has happened and the troops who've died in this war.
Hate breeds hate...how will that solve anything? It's a vicious
cycle that needs to be stopped...and NOT by killing every Muslim that moves.

Very good point, we should be able to forgive and I commend you for being able to. I don't have hatred toward the muslims or anyone, that I can think of at this moment, but if I had to and it was my orders I would fight, that's that. I agree too, we shouldn't go toward the innocent, and I think at this moment the troops are trying to make things better over there and finding the ones who are part of the terrorist group.

Thank you so much for your service to our country. I can't imagine. But, I don't hate all muslims. The problem is, is you don't know who to trust. These people hide behind their women's skirts. They don't have uniforms. There's not a good way to tell if they're the bad guys. That's why we've got to take them all into consideration, even the women and children, since they strap bombs onto them. God bless you, and God bless America.

Glad you could forgive....however I have no forgiveness for the muslims who can plan and execute the murder of almost 3000 americans, who keep their females uneducated and in a state of slavery, who murder females of their own family if she gets raped cause it 'dishonors' them. I have nothing but disgust and hatred for Islam and I'm hoping my nephews get more of them in Iraq!
