Show them how to put it in, find an article on the net about the safety issues from not puting a seat in the right way. Maybe they dont understand how serious it is to make sure it is in right. Or have them go to the police station and get a demo on how to put a carseat in the right way.

I agree with SD. You wont always be able to do it for them like everyone else is telling you. However i am sure that you are concerned for there safety. Show them the proper way to do it. If you are unsure if they will respond well try this. MOST car dealerships know how to install a baby seat ((sometimes some even promote it just to get you on the lot)) they do where i am from anyway. Try asking mother-in-law to accompany you there once , Then while you know that she is paying close attention (and believe me if she thinks YOU are buying a car mother-in-law will be paying attention).... ask one of the sales men if you have it installed properly I am sure that you know that you do but it will draw attention to it and then she might notice the proper way to do it.

You should put the car seat in for them. They won't like it but that's tough. Safety comes first always. Secondly, you should have a serious conversation with them. It may be that they don't know how so you may need to walk it through with them.

You can politely point out that they're not putting that specific brand of car seat in right, although others may go in that way, the one you have doesn't and offer to show them the correct way to do it.
Just be kind about the situation, I am sure they won't take it to the heart.

Well, you can not put the seat yourself all the time. You either will not have enough time for that or they will take it personal. So just tell them in a nice way.If they are stubron and they do not want to listen to you then your husband can help you.

put it in for them and if you cant do that then you better tell them to make damn sure they put it in right because if something happends like your son dies or is badly hurt the only one you are going to blame is yourself and then that wont do you any good either so you better grow some balls and tell them they are doing it wrong and show them how to do it right!
