Not thyroid, parathyroid. Hypercalcemia? Please tell me if you had surgery and how you felt afterwards. Thanks.

The parathyroid/calcium/vitamin D/calcitonin endocrine system is very complex and not fully understood. Parathyroid disease is frequent in dialysis patients, as something in the feedback loop is lost in the dialysis process.

Your surgeon should be able to hook you up with some people who have had it, maybe you can talk with them.

Go to www.drweil.com They might have some info there on their message boards about it. I hear that this condition causes all sorts of weird symptoms including aches and joint pains, tooth pain, as well as hot/cold tempurature fluctuations. Good luck!
