That stinks. You will need assistance from your Congressmen to have that put on the fast track to reinstate your disability status. There is a group called Military Order of the Purple Heart, that helps others recover their disability status and full medical care, through their contacts with Congressmen.

I do not know how to contact MOPH, sorry.

Addendum: I have a friend on Y!A boards who has more info on this. I will try to find him and direct him to your question. I am thinking that puts you in the Vietnam era.

Join the crowd brother. Served in the Nam from "67" to "70", 3 tours. My brother Rocky was killed in Da Nang in "68". I was hit in the chest with 2 A.K. rounds, survived, and was held captive by the V.C. until my liberation by my unit 8 months later, the 7th Special Forces. Since returning home, I have fought a much harder war here than I did in Vietnam! These god-damned bureaucrats think we were just tools of war to be forgotten about. I still have P.T.S.D., still hold a A.K.47 bullet in my back, and suffer pain on a daily basis. Whats the V.A. hospital done for me? Gave me some damn "Tylenol-3" and a "See ya-Next-Month" is what they did. Those sons a beeches owe us big-time my brother. lets keep lobbying congress for our rights. I still believe in this country, and I believe some day, we will get our help and recognition. I just hope it's before I die. God Bless you My Brother, And Good Luck, A Brother In Arms, Tommy, God Bless America, And Our Troops! 1st. Sgt., 7th Special Forces, (Ret.) Vietnam, "67"-"70"

Cannot totally agree with LV. As a military retiree, I watched our benefits being eroded in all but the Reagan years. The war on terrorism is a Johnny-come-lately on the scene. As we were all promised be our recruiters that service until retirement would be rewarded with free lifetime health care, we know that started disappearing most rapidly during the !@#$% slick willie years.

Because they are bastards who really couldn't care less. Look at all the sacrifices you men (and women) have made and in the end what do you get for it.

It's sad but you're only of worth when serving the cause...seems like after that nobody could care less. This is what really makes me angry about war and why it's stupid and senseless.

Don't forget the government of the USA is like a horse with blinders on...no peripheral vision whatsoever.

I work at an assisted living building and i believe the gov cut the care because seniors are not contributing to society financially, it's very sad, if it weren't for what our seniors did for our country we would not be able to enjoy what we have! what ever happened to respect our elders, I see it daily, plus our society is in to much of a hurry to slow down and give people the time of day or the care they need, it all comes down to the mighty bottom line "money"

I HEAR YOU! I am a disabled Vietnam Veteran and am having to fight tooth and nail to get more than 50%. I draw my Military Retirement in one year, so that makes my somewhat younger than you./ Do you have a VA Advocate Office near you or a Veteran Center? They may be able to help you. Thank you for your service and God bless.

You can thank the US Legislature for that (and it's a bi-partisan effort, you can't blame it on any one party.). They cut veterans benefits so they have a few more dollars to spend on the war against Terrorism. God forbid that they cut funding for the protection of spotted owls and ivory-billed woodpeckers, and millions of dollars per year to study the effects of cow farts on the ozone layer, they cut all funding that directly benefits people in need, instead.

By the way, your avatar, like everyone elses, makes you look like you're 16.

Sadly, I would imagine because you are no longer useful to them. I know that in one of my favorite movies "Best Years of Our Lives," when the war was over, soldiers often had a really tough time getting home. They didn't have that problem getting there.

Lot of benefits for only working 22 years!!! Did you get another job, after you retired. I guess if you are 63 the service thinks you do not need as much income. Well thanks for your service to our great nation
