Once on a dare (after drinking most of the bottle) I ate the worm. I was so sick the next day. Was it because of el womo's revenge! Probably. :(

Actually, true tequila doesn't have a worm in the bottom of the bottle. To get a worm, you'll have to try mezcal. The standards for tequila are pretty strict - only one variety of agave, can be produced in only one of five states in Mexico, at least 51% agave and at most 49% other ingredients. Incidentally, I just bought a bottle of mezcal a couple days ago and intend to eat the worm tonight.
Also, it's a myth that the worm soaks up all the alcohol. It contains about the same concentration as the rest of the mezcal due to osmosis.

The worm now only comes in higher end Mexican Tequila.
The worm tried to smuggle itself into the country in the bottle but could not hold its breath.
Now it is a tasty worm.

yep I drank a full bottle & guess I ate the worm. This was after about a dozen cool beers (bud I think). I really could not tell you what made me drunk or sick,but just thinking about it ,it was probally the worm huh??

Mezcal has the worm in the bottom, not tequilla. I have drank it but never enough that I could eat the worm. I have seen it done but only by drunk people. It is harmless, but ewwe I could never eat it.

Ask everyone to bet money on you eating the worm. Drink it and hold it under your tongue but make awful faces like you are grossed out. Then chew the worm to a disgusting pulp and display the slimy glob on your tongue to everyone's surprise. Party on!

Yes, It kind of tastes like dirt. And the worm,it really doesn't have a taste to it cause you have a choice to eat it with salt or not!!

Yes, years ago in my drinking days. I didn't eat the worm though, my buddy did.
And it's true, whoever eats the worm absolutely goes crazy. My friend did. Then he puked everywhere and passed out :oP
