I am not a protestant or Catholic. I am apostolic pentecostal. I hate how some have elevated Mary to the level of Godhood. She was a woman chosen of God for His divine purpose. She needed the Holy Ghost like every one else. You will find this in the first chapter of Acts.

The early reformers accepted all the Catholic doctrines about Mary except her intervention, and the intervention of any saint in heaven for that matter.

NONE of the reformers taught that Mary was a sinner, or that she had other children, yet so many Christians accept and believe these false teachings that originated long after the Protestant revolt.

Protestants don't hate Mary, they are just caught up in the over-board rejection of Mary in 17th century Protestant theology. It's anti-Catholic reactionism and prejudice. Claiming Catholics elevate Mary to the level of God (see an above post) is a perfect example of misrepresentation, and false propaganda. Every Catholic document on Mary for 2000 years says she is a human being.

Any honest seeker can find out for themselves that ALL doctrines on Mary are Christ centred, not Mary centred, and Jesus is magnified, not competed with.

Of course not. My church even has special hymns devoted to Mary. We celebrate Mary Sunday. Throughout the entire season of Advent, we sing songs and read scriptures about her. So the idea that all Protestants hate the Blessed Virgin is simply absurd. However, we do not view her as co-redemptrix in the way that many Roman Catholics do.

I am non-denominational but I understand the problem since my parents are members of the church of Rome. The point is that after Mary gave birth to Jesus she had a normal sexual relationship with Joseph. We know this because Jesus had 4 brothers and at least two sisters--we don't know how many sisters. See Matt. 13:55-56.

No, but I really hate being burned at the stake for wanting to practice my religion my way!
We also believe that Miriam of Nazareth was a virgin at the time of the birth of Jesus. This is enough to fulfill the Old Testament prophecies.
We do not believe all the nonsense that has been thought up about her since then.

Worship isn't about the actual manifestations exhibited in the course of the approach - it really is about one's frame of mind over who's being worshiped. If we are mentally venerating Mary, than we are doing in basic terms that. NO worship. i will't make correct the following element any extra famous: Catholics do not worship each person or something else except the only authentic God that exists contained in the fashion of the Holy Trinity. even as we actually do provide a lot honor to Mary and the Saints, this isn't to be at a loss for words with worship. To sparkling up this false impression, evaluate this difficulty: What do you do in the course of the nationwide Anthem? All human beings are to face, dealing with the flag, get rid of their hats, placed their hand to their heart, and recite the words as they are sung. in spite of the undeniable fact that, this actually isn't worship, is it? you're in basic terms giving honor for your u . s . a ., and the 1000's upon 1000's of troops who sacrificed their lives for the liberty of their descendants. it really is really a lot an same difficulty that Catholics to with the Saints and Mary. we do not worship them, as they don't look a god, yet we do provide them the honour they deserve for the whole lengths they took for his or her beliefs and the betterment and promoting of their faith. lots of the Saints took the perfect sacrifice, their lives, to save their Catholic Christian beliefs authentic of their hearts. actually, the least we may be able to pay off them is with honor. CJ - That internet website is downright evil and devil-pushed. How can a area that embraces Jesus Christ use a photo of a demon contained in the black backround?

No, why would we hate the virgin Mary. The Bible says she is blessed above women. She was the earthly mother of Jesus, She stayed loyal to Him throughout His life. A wonderful woman! But there are some who want to make her the queen of heaven, and that is blasphemy to God. Jesus says that He alone is to be worshipped. To deify someone and make them a god is against the first commandment of God.

I am a baptist and I can say that I do feel any hate for the virgin Mary. Its just that as a Baptist I focus my faith into Jesus.Mary is like a vessel that contains holy water,is the vessel different or special just because it contains holy water? She is the mother Of Jesus because God came upon her and she gave birth to Jesus. So I would consider her Saintly.

No. The virgin Mary is A big part of our religion as well..though we don't consider her to be divine; we don't believe that she had an immaculate conception, like Jesus. We regard her as the Mother of Jesus, man, not the mother of God. We only pray to God/Jesus. We don't hate her that is just non-sense. Who ever told you that is ignorant.

Of course not! She was...IS... the most blessed woman ever. However she is not our intercessor to God....Christ is.

Just have to add, she was a virgin when she gave birth to God's Son but she did not remain a virgin. She and her husband Joseph had other sons and daughters.
