Let's play a little game.

Think of someone that you know that has a different religious viewpoint than you.

Say something nice about them here.

If you don't know the person well enough to say something nice about them, then why do you know enough to say bad stuff about them?

I like Suzanne. We've had differences of opinion, but whenever I have a question about Christianity, she always gives me a great answer nevertheless. I respect that.

There are many I could include in this, here are a few;
Atheists:

Edsawyer,Mark,J.T.,Southpaw, and too many to list. I have found these people to be generous, loving, and honest.Even though we may not share faith and beliefs I find they are always respectful of others.
Agnostics:

Betteriage,JimDarwin: Their questions are polite and well thought out. Although we see things differently there questions make one think.

Muslims:

PokiPoki, and many others.I respect the strength of their faith and their honor in defending it.

To all Protestants: ALthough we may not share our faith completely I applaud you and your desire to hold to it.

Pagans and Wiccans:
Again to many to list: I admire your respect for nature and creation.I respect the peacefullness that you represent.

Spiritualists:
Dear Pangel what can I say? You are always a light to me. I find you outlook on things refreshing and enlightening.
Peace Be With You,
Debra

As a "doubtful free-thinking atheistic, kinda agnostic humanist who hopes that there is some sort of God out there that's a constant source of loving energy" I highly doubt there is anybody out there who in fact _has_ the same religious viewpoint than me.

I have met some amazing people from all sorts of different viewpoints here. Muslims (kraljicatabiaa), Atheists (Edsawyer, abram.kelly, Weemaryanne, imrational), Agnostics (Music_girl, bettierage), Christians (Contemplative Chanteuse, Debra M). And the list can be made even much longer.

Point is, they are all people, as am I. It would be too easy to say something good about them, it's almost impossible to say something bad about them.

Another (atheist) vote for Debra.

I sometimes strongly disagree with her pov but she is clearly an enquiring person genuinely eager to find out what others think about issues. This willingness to engage with a debate properly rather than merely to steamroller in with dogma and sermonizing projects the kind of person I think many Christians would like themselves to be considered, but simply aren't able to live up to the model. I also suspect that IRL she would be a delightful person to know and a true and loyal friend.

Can we all make a collection for flowers or something?

My best friend Jason's cousin John - he's a christian minister - we disagree on the existence of god thing, but other than that we get along great. (However, he is a lousy golfer!)

Also -in college I was good friends with the campus catholic priest. There's a combo - an atheist and a priest! But we got along very well together.

Not to be corny, but different beliefs are a plus not a problem.

okeedokee....

Muslems

, they designed the greatest smoking pipe ever, the sheesha or hookah, or narghile. and the best tasting tobacco, shisha.

they are taught to respect the teachings of Jesus Christ as a prophet even though he was not sent to them.

Chriastians,

they have ont of the best teachers of peace in the world, (Jesus)
and have done wonders to spread the joy of their religion to many countries, they also fund more charity drives than any other group on the planet.

Jews,

they hold true to their religious teachings and their traditions.
and take their beliefs as ultimate truth.

Wiccans,

They teach responsible use of Macick and take time to teach the young and to train the mind to think in different ways. they are very big on not accepting people that are not yet of adult age into covens withoug parental permission.

Buddahist.

find enlightnement in a spiritual manner without falling into the doctrine of a supreme god. all around good people

Taoist, dont know any, cant say good or bad.

Vodun,

hold to their religious beliefs even though the majority of the world tries to paint them as evil. very secure in their beliefs and practices. never do anything without cause.

*************************************
Now am i clear to continue telling these people what is really wrong with their attitudes when compaired to their religious beliefs,,,,except buddahist's, they stick to their beliefs all of the time and never seem to say ill of any other beliefs.

if you want a specific user,

Debra M is about the nicest person that i have seen on here.
not only is she tolerant and understanding but all of her questions and answers have a meaning behind them.

when i see a question asked by her i can be sure that i am going to have to think to answer it.
and if she answers i can be sure to get some good information from another viewpoint.

Contemplative Chanteuse is the only believer (so far) on my Y!360 friends list -- the only exception to my "sorry, no godders anytime" rule. I seldom agree with her but she's so sweet that she's impossible to dislike.

She also has a wicked sense of humor and she likes all the same people that I like.

I don't really consider myself religious. I'd rather refer to myself as spiritual.

My best friend since Kindergarten ((28 yrs)) is Christian and we are as close as can be. She is strong, spiritual, giving, loving, a hard worker, great mother, wife, & best friend... to name a few.

We disagree on some religious views but we both believe in a Higher Power, living to love, learn & grow spiritually. Plus, we love & accept eachother for who we are, so it works!

I am Christian (Methodist) and I really think Debra M (Catholic) is pretty sweet. She always has nice things to say. I have never seen her be mean once. I definately do not like Catholicism in general, but she is nice.

O.k. For me, that would be Debra M. She is the sweetest, most tolerant person here. I'm an atheist and she's a catholic, but we can still respect eachother.
