You don't need to lose weight, but you (and most other people) should eat20%fat;20%protein;and 60%carbs. The carbs should be from whole grains (wheat and oats), fruits and veggies. Save the sweet and salty for snacks. If you burn more energy, eat more. 2000 may be a bit much, unless you are active. There are web sites that have calorie calculators.

My ideas? Try to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. Work hard, but don't over 60 minutes at a time. Do planks and other abs exercises on alternate days.

On training days, do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.

The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!

Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.

Read magazines like Shape, Womens Fitness, Fitness, etc to get tips and to stay motivated.

Good luck and stick at it. This plan has lost me 20 lbs in 12 weeks so far, just go for it!

There is no RDA for fat. The FDA's food pyramid only stipulates that fats and oils should be "used sparingly". This would suggest that as few calories as possible should come from fats and oils.

That having been said, there are fats that are "good" for you and fats that are bad. You want to stay away from saturated fats and trans fats. Unsaturated fats-mono and poly-are better fat sources, such as olive oil and canola oils. Fats from natural sources such as cold water fish (tuna, salmon, halibut) and some nuts such as walnuts are known as omega fatty acids (Omega 3 and omega 6) and are essential to your health-in other words, for your body's cells to maintain proper functioning you need to consume these fats on a weekly basis.

At your height and weight you don't need to lose any weight.
However, all calories are the same there are just more of them in fatty foods.
