Download the K-Lite mega Codec pack, (http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Mega_Codec_Pack.htm) once it is installed, Windows media Player will play DVDs, as will Media Player Classic, which comes with the pack, this is all free.
XviD and DivX are included in this pack, but XviD and DivX do not play DVDs, other video software is also included. This pack will let you play any video you download on the internet as well through Windows Media Player, even Quicktime and Real Video.

Go to www.videolan.org/vlc/ and download the VLC player. It plays DVD's and VCD's . Hope this helps. Its free an dits not a trial version.

windows media player will play dvds if you have the right codecs. But check out the Xvid codec, or download DivX player. Free.

Depends on your Operating System!!!
For Windows I use Power DVD. I like it better than WIN DVD. They both run through Win Media Player or you can use their UI.
Buy them at computer stores or you can dowload and pay for them through http://download.com
