Try taking something else - Tylenol (acetaminophen), Advil (ibuprofen), Aleve (naproxen) - maybe another type will help you. I have found that it helps to have food in your stomach so they don't hurt it as much. I couldn't chew after I had my teeth out, so maybe applesauce or toast would help. You need some food in there to act as a buffer, then maybe it won't be so painful. I am so sorry for you and hope that you feel better soon! The first week is by far the worst. Those bottom teeth can really hurt - mine were completely impacted and partially fused to the bone, so they had to cut my gum and drill them into pieces before they could get them out, and I was really sore.

Were you sedated or awake during the extraction? I had a great oral surgeon who gave me IV sedation and laughing gas. I was out of it during the extractions. After waking up I was numb for the next 6 hours. I just used ice on/off my face every 20 minutes the first couple of days to help with swelling. The third day I used warm heat - used a washcloth on/off for 20 minutes.
Sorry your hurting so badly. Try to relax and get some rest. That is probably the best thing. Hope your feeling better soon.

I never had wisdom teeth on the bottom but had two taken out on top, and I remember it throbbing. Then I had gum surgery and the pain was so bad I couldn't sleep without super-meds like vicadin and tylenol 3's. You need to rest. That is the only way to get over it.

I think having them all out at once is very painful and causes undue swelling. I had mine out one at a time, and there was very little pain or after shock. When you have them all out at once, your entire mouth has been surgically invaded, and the pain is intense. I am sorry you are not feeling well. The good news is that in a day or two you will feel much better.

It really varies a lot from person to person. I had all four of mine yanked at the same time, I never got the chipmunk cheeks, and I never needed any kind of pain medication.
Sorry to hear you're having such a nasty time with it. At least it's done and over with, you won't have to do it again!

Your dentist should have told you about the possible consequences of the surgery. The swelling will go down in a few days.

Big Macs normally relieve any pains that I have.
Call for a McWake up call to remind you to eat some.

Hey, Ava?
Getting your wisdom teeth out is pure torture.
I don't know why nobody told you that before.
