Drink some water. Sometimes our bodies confuse thirst with hunger. A good glass of cool water just might do the trick.

If you are on a good diet, you won't get hungry until late at night. You should eat 6 times a day. Remember to keep portions sensible. Eat breakfast, followed by a healthful snack, then lunch, followed by a healthful snack, then dinner. People always obsess about eating after a certain time like 4 PM or 5 PM, or ect. There's nothing wrong with an after dinner snack as long as it is sensible. Like instead of a pint of ice cream, have a fruit and nut mixture. Strawberries are ideal, as they have a lower calorie content than most fruits. Add a handful of almonds, walnuts, or any other kind you like. Nuts have low cal., and low carb. content. They are a high fat food, but remember, most fat will pass through your system without being absorbed. It's the unused calories and carbohydrates that get stored as fat that really get you. Also, they are high in protein, and will keep you from getting hungry until it's time for breakfast again.

If you are hungry, then you're probably not on the right diet. You should eat enough so that you are always full. You just have to know the right foods to eat. You are definitely going to have cravings, you desire to eat certain food, but you certainly should not be hungry.

Many people are unsuccessful on diets because they are always hungry. Eat nuts and seeds, banana, apple... These are good for you and filling.

When on a diet, you should eat 6 small meals, or every 3 hours with healthy snacks.
I hope this helps.

Try drinking a large glass of water first. If that doesn't help, do something else to take your mind off of food. Read, gardening, crafts, painting, sex, running, whatever. If that still doesn't work, then have something that is healthy, like your favorite fruit or some nuts.

Also, make sure your diet is healthy for you and not just a trend diet. I'm not sure what your situation is, but you can never go wrong eating fruits and vegetables, or any kind of nut or berry. Dried fruit is usually satisfying. Chicken and fish are usually the best meat choices. Stay AWAY from anything fried, chips, sodas, potatoes, pasta, and sugary things.

Ooh! I just read an article about this...

True Hunger sneaks up on you when you are busy doing something else, like work or school.

Cravings are when you are thinking about food already.

True Hunger is when almost any kind of food would do.

Cravings are when only one thing will fix it.

I find that if I treat my body a little like a machine, that just needs fuel I do better on my eating plan.

I plan ahead what times I want to eat, and have an idea of what that is going to be... BEFORE I get hungry. That way when I am hungry I have a plan.

Don't just ignore it. You could drink a glass a water, add lemon to it if you like, or snack on something like Quaker rice cakes or a small bowl of fruit, something to hold you over until your next meal time. Use portion control when snacking. But on the water thing they say to drink a glass before each meal because it will make you not eat as much so that should help curb your hunger. Good luck to you, hope this helped.

To lose weight, a person has to reduce the calorie intake by some amount by modifying their diet. A diet without sufficient nutrients will only increase the appetite of the person trying to lose weight. Since most people combine a diet with an exercise plan, additional nutrients are required for the growth of muscles required to increase the metabolic rate required for long term weight loss. You should never make yourself go hungry or your diet wil be too hard to stick to. Try nuts or fruit. Eat whenever you feel the need as long as it's for nutrition not just for flavor. i used to crave KFC but would have a banana with a slice of wholemeal bread instead, fills the tummy and stops the craving! Good luck and remember why your doing it to keep motivated. Good work!!!!!

The reason why you're probably hungry is due to the size of your stomach and not spacing out several small meals a day instead of 3 large ones. By spacing out 5-7 smaller meals a day your stomach shrinks, you have improved energy throughout the day, and your metabolism speeds up leading to weight loss. I say try to space your meals out properly to minimize hunger cravings.

Sometimes your body will send hunger signals when you are actually in need of water. So when you feel hungry when you know you shouldnt, drink a large glass of water. If you still feel hungry then grab some veggies. They are low calorie and high fiber. They will make you feel full longer.
