You will gain the weight back pretty much immediately once you start eating again because you probably didn't lost any fat- you just lost water weight. But I don't think 6 days is really long enough to do permanent damage to your metabolism. Just know that the best way to lose weight and keep it off is to eat regular, healthy meals and exercise.

unfortunately, if you just "stop" the crash diet, you can possibly gain back thye weight you lost, and more, in a few days. Your metabolism slows down while on this type of "diet", and once you start eating again, the metabolism doens't bounce right back to normal speed. I would suggest eating healthy foods and excersising (which is ver important if you do not want to gain the weight back) I would suggest not crash-dieting anymore, and continue working out and eating right. It's very hard to jump start your metabolism again. Eating a lot of naicin (like chicken) can help lose weight with the help of exercise. But you neeed a LOTTTT of niacin in order for this to work (MUCH more than the % that you need to stay healthy)

To lose weight, a person has to reduce the calorie intake by some amount by modifying their diet. A diet without sufficient nutrients will only increase the appetite of the person trying to lose weight. Since most people combine a diet with an exercise plan, additional nutrients are required for the growth of muscles required to increase the metabolic rate required for long term weight loss. i do not understand who this quack thinks he's yet 680 energy for a teenager or every person quite, is absolutly loopy! i have been in this line of work for a lengthy time period and also you under no circumstances recommend less than 1200 energy, which may just about double what you're eating. enable me allow you to recognize what the rule of thumb is it really is suggested through the nutritional Counsil. Your desirable bodyweight should be 100 lbs for the first 5 feet then an addtional 5 lbs for each inch over 5 feet. You did not say how tall you've been so so you might do the mathematics. there's a varience of plus or minus 10 lbs out of your desirable. keep that in recommendations. i'd recommend that you stick with 1200 energy and proceed what you're doing for exercising. And in case you locate that your desirable bodyweight is in that 132 determination that you presently are, then bump your energy as a lot as 1500. in case you're prepared to stay interior you desirable determination on 1500 energy then you would opt to bump it as a lot as 1800, etc. you're expending a concepts more beneficial energy then you're eating even at 1800 energy. keep an eye fixed in this, and if I were you i'd contact a dietitian at your community hospital and tell her what your 'settee' has positioned you on. don't be taken aback if he receives stated to the college board. strong success.

chances are the weight you lose on the crash diet are nothing but water and possibly muscle...very little fat will be lost and most likely come right back. If you want to speed your metabolism up just space out several smaller meals and exercise.

I confess that I am not an expert, but my impression is that one's metabolism begins to slow almost immediately when dieting. The key is changing three things: food choices, exercise, and emotional well-being. According to the latest research, portion size is less important than the types of food we eat. In other words, well-balanced meals of moderate size, with substantial amounts of fresh vegetables (salad, etc), whole grain, protein, and fruit will help the body reset itself to an optimum fat-to-weight ratio. The body is constantly trying to balance itself. If we circumvent our natural cycles, we go into survival mode, our energy levels begin to drop, reducing our metabolic rate. This almost always results in an increase in body mass!

In addition to working to change our food habits, it is very important to begin some type of aerobic or semi-aerobic exercise program. It can be as simple as taking more frequent, leisurely walks. The important point here is to do something that is enjoyable and becomes a regular habit. Again, we are made to walk, run, and engage in regular exercise. Take note of zoo animals that have small cages... They often appear unhealthy due to inappropriate stimulation and lack of exercise.

Lastly, it is most important that we work on our emotional well-being. It is no good to deny it... If we are not happy, we must do something about it. In our western culture, we are so often caught up in meeting social or other norms that we often forget about what is good for our long-term well-being. Remember to call a friend, volunteer, call that relative that is so kind to us, or make the effort to see a movie, go to a museum, etc... Personally, I have become a Buddhist. ...It has helped me immeasurably.
