It's when they gather a little hair at the top and poof it up. I think it's called a "coiffe" (not sure of the spelling)? A lot of celebrities wear it and punk rockers. Any ideas? Thanks!

It is sooooooooooooooo easy and you can wear it with the rest of your hair down for a glam look, or with a high ponytail for a punk/rock-a-billy look as well.

First, you take your thumbs and at the hair line right above where your eyebrows arch the highest, grab how much hair (usually 2-3 inches back from your hairline) and then twist it a few times, not right at the root but play around with how far you're back you start twisting to get the right effect you want. Once you have it twisted a few times, push the not twisted hair forward toward your forehead until you get the heighth you want and lay the twisted part on the top of your head and secure with two bobby-pins in an "X" with the open ends pointing towards the back of your head. Style the rest of your hair as needed.

This hairstyle also works well for those who are growing out bangs and don't want to wear headbands all the time.

If that doesn't help or you want more info, just email me! I wear my hair like this ALL the time!!! = )

If not a pompadour style then perhaps you're referencing a "bouffante"? Both styles were the rage (or was it "outrageous") in the 60s were in back in this past year.

With the 80s trend set to take over 2007, however, you may want to try extreme teasing and 180° bangs out if you're into following fashion trends.
